http://www.columbuscrewsc.com/post/...des-forward-kei-kamara-new-england-revolution http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/sports/2016/05/13/0512-crew-trade.html As I said in the rumor thread, we better come out strong in the July window. WTF.
Wow... well, Ola is gonna get his chance now. Casey as a backup is worrisome. A DP striker seems certain in the summer. Freed up DP cap space and got allocation money.
If we got rid of those awful jerseys and NE had to wear them all season this would be a little more tolerable. Did NE at least kiss Precourt goodnight?
It's difficult to overstate how bad this trade is for a team coming off hosting an MLS Cup just 5 months ago. It's even more difficult to overstate just how poorly this reflects on Berhalter's ability to (or his confidence in his ability to) manage a locker room through difficult times. What a train wreck.
Need this to be crystal clear, not about the PK or Pipa drama this week. One chapter in the book. #CrewSC— Anthony Precourt (@APrecourt) May 12, 2016 Need this to be crystal clear, not about the PK or Pipa drama this week. One chapter in the book. #CrewSC — Anthony Precourt "We've had a problem with him leading up to this point so we made him a DP. YYYEEEEEAAAAHAHHHHHH BBBOIIII!"
As somewhat of a GB/AP apologist for the past couple of years (and admittedly sort of a Higuain hater), I'm pretty pissed. This is easily the worst decision GB has made from a personnel perspective since he's been here. I can let some of the anger go if we get a huge AAA signing to replace him in the summer, but even then, trading him to a team that we will face a few more times, and possibly in the playoffs is unacceptable. In this league when you struggle to score goals and finally land someone who can do it consistently and at a high level, you make that player feel welcome, and you hold on to them. Especially in a city like this where drawing top talent DPs is not an easy thing to do.
I cannot find words strong enough to express my outrage over this. He shouldn't have gone to the media, but his comments weren't THAT bad!! And they were true. Unless something happens quickly as far as a comparable replacement, I may not get over this debacle. Now I'm really starting to rethink my optimism and allegiance to GGG and AP. Cannot believe we allowed this to happen.
Shut up. We just earned $450k in cap space and $700k in allocation money. We can go after another DP striker (or any other player) who won't ruin the locker room or thinks hes bigger than the club and its manager.
With all your insider knowledge working with the squad daily obviously a keyboard warrior knows what should have happened
If ola scores goals, then its all good (a big if indeed). Also, I'm sure someone will come in during the summer. I'm gonna wait a month or so and see how Ola performs before I judge this transfer.
We should have fired the man whose vision we've followed for the last 2+ years in favor of the immature 31 year old who thinks he's more important than the manager or any other player.
Imagine how many Kirsten Steindhorssens and Amro Tareks we can get with that money. Throw in an Emil Larrsen with a side of Pogatetz. The future is so bright. God, I can't wait!
if the money is confirmed, that's a nice chunk of cash we can use to go after someone. I will abstain from judgment until we see how this plays. Recall, Euro leagues are finishing up, and if there is anyone out of contract (and no, I have no idea who is out there nor who would be worthwhile), I don't think we have to wait for the July transfer window to open again to pick them up. That's all based on memory, there are much more informed folks than me on this board that could correct me.
This sucks because were losing a proven scorer but hes NOT bigger than the team and hes acting like it. Its going to be hard to start over without him, regardless of who we sign this summer but you cant have someone toxic like that weighing the team down. This all started for me when he held out for more money though. One excellent season doesnt warrant an instant raise, especially one doubling his salary.
