Don't be fooled by early US vote counts: They might be misleading By Reuters November 5, 20243:48 AM PST Then again...they might not.
Using 2020 as a comparison is also majorly flawed because that election was heavily influenced by COVID (pushing early (D-)voting up) and by Trump/GOP's campaign vilifying early voting (pushing early R-voting down).
I hate to break it to you…wait, no I don’t. Elon has many talents, but he’s a complete idiot WRT American politics.
You said that already It showed up on my twitter feed for some reason, but I should have checked the date. My bad. I naturally figured Lefties had started protesting already in anticipation of a Trump win
Whats so dumb about his post?? Democrats traditionally do better at early voting, but Republicans do better on election day. You could make the argument the past is not indicative of the future I suppose. Either way, high Republican turnout is a good sign for Trump. This vote breakdown is an even better sign BREAKING 🚨Latest early voting data shows LANDSLIDE incoming for President Trump! Do not believe the fake polls and DO NOT let up now. First I want to say good luck for today is the day USA and the world gets rid of the orange buffoon and personally I want for the Internet to be usable again. Fine I will vote... I don't think I can though.... but so many ads
This part is dumb. It’s not true, unless by “traditionally” you mean “in 2020.” Otherwise, the exact opposite is true. One day we’ll get a conservative who lives on Real Earth. Today is not that day.
No, historically Republicans vote more on election day, and Democrats vote more by early voting (mail in ballots and early in-person voting). Here you go: https://www.forbes.com/sites/sarado...st-swing-state-vote-counts-may-be-misleading/
Whats pretty stupid?? That Trump might win, or that there will be riots if he does?? Or do you think both statements are stupid??
Or maybe that somebody may actually believe that a story from post election 2016 is from pre election 2024.
There have been many, many articles written in recent months (some even mentioned on this here internet thread) about how the "Democrats vote early" truism isn't anymore. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your belief system.
PA, thanks to a law passed by a Republican-led legislature, can’t start counting until after the polls closed. That’s why PA wasn’t called until, the following Saturday in 2020.
Steve Kornaki was saying the early voting of PA would get counted quite quickly this time and that its the provisional ballots that only get opened later (much of which is probably voting blue). Of course, PA is so close that it will probably come down to those provisional ballots.
Not just provisional but all mail-in ballots cannot be processed until 7am today. I believe Wisconsin has a similar law. That said, those ballots won't make up nearly the percentage of the overall vote that they did in 2020. From the PA Secretary of State website:
Its still early but Florida is a landslide so far.
