American democracy being saved by a racist comedian would be a fitting end to the clownery that was the Trump era. If this hail Mary costs Trump the election, I will wholeheartedly believe the "In God we trust" motto from the US dollar.
Hopefully Harris wins by such a large margin that people won't be pointing to this stupid PR thing as the reason why (just an example of many reasons).
I don't know how we fix this. That guy who got banned from CNN will be able to wear that like a badge of honor on right wing news networks now. The old system of "shame" just doesn't apply any more. I know we're not supposed to support political violence, but maybe if some of these guys woke up in the hospital facing reconstructive dental surgery they wouldn't be such huge assholes all the time.
FTFY Waking up with half their IQ and having to relearn the alphabet would be a great thing to happen to them. It is exactly what conservatism deserves. I was never among those who eschewed violence. I just worry about being in the minority and becoming a victim of violence.
I know this is a joke but it really is indicative of all the world's problems right now. 25 years ago if someone said the stupid-ass shit in public that Donald Trump says every goddamned day, they would be laughed at and humiliated and/or punched in the fücking face, as they deserve. But in a world where we are algorithmically assigned only the friendliest of warm embraces, this kind of rancid tripe becomes normal discourse. There are no consequences for anything. The stupider and louder they are, the better.
Here’s the deal: this is cool as f**k. pic.twitter.com/mm4DYpDLV6— Dark Brandon (@VoteDarkBrandon) October 29, 2024
Someone posted "better than 3 hours on Rogan" The video we have all been waiting for. Kamala Harris on SNL tonight! Share to piss off Donald Trump. 🤣pic.twitter.com/sDF84k9UgH— Alex Cole (@acnewsitics) November 3, 2024
Reports of young women posting Vote Kamala stickers in ladies rooms. What’s posted in Bathrooms echo in voting booths. And it’s private.
Staten Island is trump territory and yesterday the Staten Island Advance endorsed Harris. That'll probably cause a wave of cancelations for the Advance. https://www.silive.com/opinion/2024...-advancesilivecom-endorses-kamala-harris.html
I see that registered Democrats lead registered Republicans in PA by some 20 points in the early vote. Anyone know if the early vote gets counted before, after or at the same time as the election day voters in PA? I see that GA will reveal all 4 million early votes by 8:00p ET. So, we will know a fair amount pretty early tonight.
We should know by tomorrow morning. But if Elon is right, it's not looking good for Kamala Below are the R minus D early vote deltas in swing states before tomorrow. Republican turnout on election day is usually much higher than Democrat, so any state currently leaning R in early voting is very likely to side with Trump.Pennsylvania, while still leaning D, has a… pic.twitter.com/1RziVhte02— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 5, 2024
Anti Trump protests in Oregon https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ayed-demonstrations-erupt-across-us/93633154/
This is the 1st year ever that I've voted straight ticket in an election. Ps...right now I'm rolled up like a ball in a corner awaiting the results.
Actually, Kornaki (sp?) just answered my question. The early vote will be fully revealed quite early this evening in MI, NC, GA and PA. That means Kamala will jump out to a big early lead in PA, and the rest of the night it'll be about whether she can hang on as they count ballots that were submitted today. Also, the provisional ballots in PA don't get counted until Friday. Milwaukee counts theirs overnight, so we probably won't know which way WI swings until tomorrow. But seems like there is a good chance we will know the 47th POTUS by 11:00ish ET. So, I am going to pace my drinking along that timeline.
That's an incredibly dumb post from Elon and he's not a dumb person, so looks like he is just trying to fool people (successfully, it would appear). Obviously as more and more people vote early, it will become harder for Democrats to dominate the early vote in battleground states. That's just a statistical inevitability otherwise it wouldn't be a battleground state.
