expect to see more blatant unconstitutional abuses of power this time around. Some people choose to believe that the existing conventions and checks will stop this, but I don't think it will. First step is cleaning out the public service and appointing mid-level managers and important people with the true believers. Then, when the executive orders something done that they aren't allowed to do, those people will do it anyway. The courts might try and get in the way, but there will be strategic appointments that will get around that.

I'll give you the biggest example. I am a registered Republican. Was a Republican until Trump was nominated. I mostly voted for people, not parties, for all offices except President.

In 2016 I voted Gary Johnson.

And I have caught shit for all of it from a bunch of posters, but you have to know your shit and not just show up the days after an election and say you "want to have a clean conversation". That's trolling.

From what I have seen of you in the last two days it gloating and trolling and that is never going to get a real conversation going.

Saw this on BlueSky, and don't know how legit it is, but interesting and not surprised if true. But for me, it's just hard to feel sympathetic for people that vote Trump.

Ah yes, one thing that’s sorely lacking in this forum is a sense of humor, good job sussing that out.

 

I’ve been laughing my ass off the last couple of days.

 

A couple points: (1) in my general view thing work for Trump but not Kamala because he’s a superior politician who knows how to talk to his voters. Kamala is just not a good politician and she’s certainly not Teflon like Trump.

(2) it appears you are implying that sexism is the root cause of why it doesn’t work for her. I disagree. But even assuming it’s true if she was an effective politician (she’s not) she would work-around this by figuring out the strategy that does work for you. Doing a voter reach out strategy that backfires is a mistake in an election. That’s just the fundamentals of how elections work.

(3) you should touch some grass. what’s ironic is that you have the hateful attitude by demonizing people who disagree with you.

 

Perhaps he won’t fix anything, but that’s better than raising my taxes. And he will appoint conservative judges who will issue opinions undermining the legality of the DEI industrial complex. And he will reinstate Remain in Mexico. Those are big pluses for me.
