Here is a thread for training camp news. I have got a small update from the Suwon training camp. I should be able to put up a better one in a couple of days. http://fcbluewings.com/eng/news/news_view.asp?seq=82
From Link "Suwon coach Cha Bum Kun will be looking to get more of a look at the youngsters in their first year with the first team. Most notably of those players is midfielder Park Hyeon Bum, Suwon's first pick of the 2007 Draft last November. Park started the game against Kumamoto and was subbed off in 67th minute after impressing his new coach." how do you rate this guy in the talent and potential scale so far? The article makes him sound like an interesting player to watch this coming season. The site records him as 194 cm!
He seems so far to be hit and miss. He shows great ability with his passing and his ability to find the open players, but he is also very prone to turnovers. From what I have seen from his flashyness, he seems a bit like a young Lee Kwan Woo. The new youngster I am excited about is Cho Young Tae. This cat has got some serious potential. He will be number 35 for Suwon this year and Park will be 17, look for them both to get a lot of playing time at the beginning of the year.
thanx for the info. So, with these new MFs like Cho Young-Tae, would you say Suwon's got Kim Nam-il's departure covered?
Bluewings, do you get to see the training for Suwon very often? If you do, I want to ask you something if you don't mind.
Well, we brought in the North Korean midfielder An Young Hak from Busan in the trade for Ahn Jung Hwan to replace Kim Nam Il. Obviously it is difficult to replace such a talented guy, but I think we will cope. Midway through last year, Cha tested Kim out as a full back for a few games so he will be missed more as an overall player and not just at midfield. It should be interesting to see how all of these new players adapt at midfield. I think that the old guys like Baek Ji Hoon, Lee Kwan Woo, Bae Ki Jong should gel nicely. I am excited to see how our midfield works together at the beginning of the season. I talked to Nadson on Sunday and he said he will be ready to go for the opener, we will have see about that... Park Hyeun Bum is a midfielder, but with his size, I am sure he can play forward. Cho Young Tae is playing more of a role like Edu, he can play the wing or play up front as a forward. I expect him to take some of the playing time that Lee Hyun Jin was getting last year.
Wait, wasn't there a report about Nadson possibly missing the entire first half of the season? Enlighten me on this. But if you're right, that's great news for Suwon. Injury prone or not, he's still the best goalscorer on the team. Ha Tae-gyun is just a shite finisher, and Edu's scoring touch isn't as impressive as his ability to spread the defense with his physical presence and dribbling skills outside the box. But I did read awhile ago that Shin Young-rok will get much more PT this year, so I'm pretty excited about that.
Yeah, if you read that report about Nadson, it was probably from me. I was told about 3 weeks ago that Nadson would be out for the entire 1st half of the season recovering from the injury. Then I asked him directly on Sunday and his exact words were, "League Open I am ready" So, all I can say is wait and see what happens Sunday
How's Moon Minkwi? I haven't heard about him all season last year. The dude's talented enough to be on the national team.
Edu is with the team. Was he visiting China? He was with us on our training camp in Japan. The only person that I know was close to leaving in the off-season was Mato, he got a great offer from Urawa but turned it down to win a championship with Suwon, plus more money
OK, this is the official word from Cha, "Nadson is out in-definitely and may possibly require more surgery." I can't figure out why the hell he would have told me that he would be ready for the season opener. Everytime I ask him something in Korean his answer is always, " Kwenchaneyo" James, "Nadson, when will you be ready to train?" Nadson, " Kwenchaneyo" James, "Do you have any pain in your ankle?" Nadson, " Kwenchaneyo" James, " Does FC Seoul suck so bad that you want to rip your eyes just so that you don't have to watch them?" Nadson,"absolutely"
He started getting a lot more playing time in the second half of the season last year. This year he will start as a back up to Yang Sang Min, but his form isn't completely back from his injury at training camp. Don't know what it was exactly, but the coach won't train him at 100% yet.
