Damn, Seoul is playing good considering the fcuking 32 degree heat. Imagine playing from 0 degrees to 32. Anyway, as I said let's not expect shit from Ulsan. The only K-League clubs that have a shot is Seoul, Pohang and Suwon respectively.
I was afraid of this. With such a young squad, complacency is going to creep in a lot easier and will be harder to guard against. I would hope that, for the sake of development, this doesn't become a habit this season.
Nice. Triple Yong on the field. He replaced Dejan? Wait. Was it Kim Chi-Woo or Kim Seung-Yong who scored?
Kim Seung-yong Yes, it was a freekick as well BTW, man I feel so bad for our league. Why can't our league attract fans like the Indonesians and the Japanese... 10 mins left to play
I wouldn't be too harsh on them. I don't blame them They are playing in 32 degree heat, a difference of more than 30 degrees compared to Korea. Playing with a full stadium, I don't blame them at all.. If not the scoreline is flattering albeit Seoul raping them with nice individual brilliance.
FT Ulsan 1 - 3 Nagoya What can I say, if the home team can't even beat the opposing team even in terms of fans, there's nothing much more to talk about. Seriously this isn't a joke, something must be done. I know that Ulsan doesn't have the money nor the squad to compete in both but how can you expect the players to perform when there are more away fans than home fans? Hihi what do you think about this?
Ulsan has always been renowned for attracting poor attendance records both in the league and international competitions. The main reason for that is Ulsan's boring football under Kim JN. Now that this guy's replaced, even much worse coach has been appointed by the name of Kim Ho-Gon. Way to go, Ulsan! A team that once was able to beat Gamba 6-0 at away a few years ago, and made the semi-finals of ACL, now it's not the same team anymore. But, they've lost too many valuable players in the off-season (Out of best 11, 5-6 players are now gone), so Ulsan needs a bit of time for the new players to adjust and gel together. But, since the coach is Kim HG, I don't expect anything from this team to perform anything in the league or in ACL.
Disappointing result for Ulsan. Perhaps a road warrior mentality might help them do better in away fixtures. Didn't Seongnam used to do better in away games when their attendance was down?
Yes but the difference btw Seongnam then and Ulsan now is QUALITY. Having said that, Seongnam has always drew less crowd than Ulsan anyways but still had enough quality to play well. As Woorijim said, they lost a lot of key players to Japan and elsewhere and to top it off this year Ulsan has hit hard by the financial crisis especially with Hyundai withdrawing a lot of funds for the team.
I would leave performances from ACL aside when assessing Ulsan. It's pretty clear we aren't giving crap for the tournament, and I honestly don't have much problem with it, not this season anyways. I see us back in next season.
Can't speak to the Japanese, but the most expensive ticket for the Sriwijaya match was something like $15. -------------- I'm impressed Sriwijaya showed as well as they did. Fitness levels are uniformly pretty terrible here, and teams almost always hit a wall between 60 and 75 minutes.
