Kamani is the first sub into the game (63rd minute) for Wolfsburg as they fall 2-0 to Dortmund. Match was 1-0 when Hill came in, with Dortmund not putting it away until the 90th with their second goal. http://soccernet-akamai.espn.go.com/report?id=200044&cc=5901
You can read all about it the previous Hill thread and it's better kept there I think. I wasn't paying attention when I made the first reply. Good for Hill to keep getting his weekly sniff. Be nice if knocked in a brace or two to cement the deal.
I meant the abbreviation actually - for some reason I always wondered why everyone here calls him that and I was curious if there is any kind of deeper meaning I'm not getting . After reading the other thread I see that my completely innocent question brought me into dangerous territory .
Nah, it's the standard American abbreviation for the guys whose names begin with with "Ag "or "Aug". Harking back to (long long ago), the Milwaukee Brewers once had a pitcher named Jerry Augustine. His nickname was "Augie" also. http://cgi.ebay.com/Jerry-Augustine...mZ140011175836QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting When you think about it, it's pretty close to what Klaus's German nickname "Auge" is, except it's pronounced "Oh-ghee" and not "Aw-geh". And now Jerry is a head coach (baseball) in UWM ... hip-hip, hooray! Well, you know the whole "Augie hates Yanks" scheiße started with Landon Donovan's ill-fated tenure with Bayer where some BS posters blamed the coach for the Landycakes failures.
Thanks, just wondered if there is any deeper meaning I'm missing . It's indeed a bit similar in writing - but it's on a totally different level concerning coolnes. Nicknames ending on a consonant and "e" are usually the awesome . As for the Donovan thing, as a long-time BS member I was arround then of course. It's just that I'm not as much on this board as I used to anymore. Especially Wolfsburg threads usually don't catch my interest .
http://www.kicker.de/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/365313/ The "Eye" is in trouble in the Wolfcastle.
http://www.kicker.de/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/365448/ a foregone conclusion that "Eye" is done at Wolfsburg. The team is only 3 points out of the relegation zone (36 vs. Alemannia Aachen's 33) and just happens to be playing at Alemannia this Saturday. If the team loses, the assistant manager will take over for the final match. Kamani could have definitely used better news.
Well, at least he's in the door. Up to Hill to make the best of it now. In the case of Feilhaber (as I predicted), it kindof sucks when you lose your sponser however. I wouldn't mind seeing Hill go on loan to the BL2- as long as he gets major minutes. He needs to hone his finishing in real game environments.
