Jykese Fields Born on June 14, 2007 in Minot, North Dakota Recently moved to Hoffenheim from Norwich. Apparent statement from Hoffenheim: "Jykese Fields will strengthen the TSG U17 team from the 2023/24 season. The attacker has been active in Norwich City's academy for the past three years and featured for the Canaries Under-18s in the 2022/23 season in the Junior Premier League. The German-American (born June 14, 2007 in Minot, North Dakota) is returning to Germany with his move to Kraichgau. Before his station on the island in der Pfalz he played for the juniors of FK Pirmasens and before that for FC Germania Hütschenhausen. Welcome to the TSG Academy, Jykese Fields!" Interesting right? Thought *maybe* a potential military connection with Minot but didn’t want to speculate too much, so it may or may not be a thing, to put it very very loosely.
Transfermarkt has him playing at striker this season for the U17s. He started and scored in a 4-2 win against Kaiserslautern on Saturday. Also saw this blurb that he scored 4 goals in a preseason friendly in July. Just for thoroughness regarding his birthplace, their website refers to him as German-American and confirms he was born in North Dakota here: https://www.tsg-hoffenheim.de/aktue...7-jykese-fields-wechselt-aus-norwich-zur-tsg/
Started and assisted the equalizing goal in a 3-2 win over Heidenheim U17s yesterday. From Hoffenheim's website:
Scored the second goal in a 2-1 win today: https://datencenter.dfb.de/datencen...offenheim-u-17-tsv-1860-muenchen-u-17-2358957
Started and assisted in a loss against Alexander Staff and Frankfurt U17s today: https://www.transfermarkt.us/eintra...899-hoffenheim-u17/index/spielbericht/4115602 Frankfurt typically puts out highlights of their U17 matches, so it'll be interesting if we can see a little bit of Fields in what might be the first publicly available footage of him, unless there's something floating around out there of course. Staff also scored twice as was shared in his thread, so it was an active day between them. Interesting for two US eligible players to be starting up top against each other in the U17 Bundesliga.
Apparently had an impressive sequence in a match yesterday that "left several Karlsruhe players standing," per a match report from the club's site: https://www.tsg-hoffenheim.de/aktuelles/news/2023/12/-3/
Fields came up in a match report on Hoffenheim's site after scoring and assisting in their U17 match on Saturday: https://www.tsg-hoffenheim.de/aktue...cen-ungenutzt-und-unterliegt-dem-fc-augsburg/ https://www.transfermarkt.us/tsg-1899-hoffenheim-u17_fc-augsburg-u17/index/spielbericht/4115620

Article from Hoffenheim's site: Also, Fields made his U19 debut for Hoffeneim on Saturday, so that means he's debuted in the U18 Premier League and U19 Bundesliga in consecutive seasons. Still 16 - he'll be turning 17 in June.
