Thought I'd start a thread with news about the club's top youth team. Unfortunately, juventus.com doesn't seem to have the full roster listed anywhere except here were the players that entered training last summer:- Head coach - Vincenzo Chiarenza AMMENDOLEA ALESSIO ATT 06-02-85 Torino ARATA SIMONE DIF 04-04-86 Fiorenzuola (PC) AVITABILE NICOLA POR 01-01-85 Castell. Bentivoglio, Masiello, Criscito, and Volpe are regulars on Italy's U-19 national team, along with Rej Volpato who joined the team from Padova this summer, after the above list was compiled. Volpato made an appearance with the first team as a sub in Friday's Coppa match at Atalanta. Currently, the team is a somewhat disappointing 4th place in their group in the Primavera championship with 10 points from 6 games. However, they have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Primavera TIM Cup - they'll face Roma home and away in December.
Juve's Primavera defeated Roma in the quarterfinals of the Coppa and will move on to face Lecce in the semifinals (Jan 12 and Feb 9). The other semifinal features Milan and Inter.
The first leg of Juve's Primavera Coppa Italia semifinal vs Lecce will be shown on RAI Sport tomorrow (Wed Jan 12), available on the web at: www.fastweb.it/streaming/raisport.asx It won't be live. The game kicks off at 8:30 am, Eastern US time, and will air at 11 am, after they show the other semifinal, which is Inter vs Milan.
Well i'd be interested to know more about Primavera so please continue this. As for a question i always wonder, could it be possible for a list of some current Serie A or other big name players who were part of JUVE primavera teams of the past etc.
Well, I never paid much attention before, so I guess I started this thread for future reference in case any of these guys make it big in the future. BTW, Juve lost to Lecce 3-1 in the semifinal first leg. The game was on RAISport, but I couldn't get any sound, so it was sort of pointless to watch since I didn't know who was who without commentary. It was 1-1 until pretty late when I happened to see Lecce go ahead 2-1. They must've added an even later 3rd. Okay, found the goal scoring summary at Lecce's site - 14' - Giorgetti (L), 49' - Marchisio (J), 82' - Mattioli (L), 90' rigore - Mattioli (L) The return leg takes place Feb 9 in Turin.
Juve's primavera squad has won its first game in the prestigious Torneo Viareggio, beating Partizan Belgrade 2-1. Juve's goals were scored by Swiss midfielder Gerardo Clemente and midfielder Paolo Di Ceglie. Juventus has won this tournament the past two seasons. http://it.sports.yahoo.com/050124/2/5wdx.html

Juve is into Saturday's semifinals vs Inter after defeating Salernitana 2-1 today in the quarters. The other semi has Genoa taking on Maccabi Haifa.

Sorry Sue, not sure. Juve has won the Viareggion Tournament for the third consecutive year, it's a record. They are unbeaten in the last 22 Viareggio tournament games (over three years). Maccabi Haifa won the third place game over Inter.
Juventus beat Genoa 2-0 in the final with first-half goals from Bianco and Volpato. Next up (well, aside from league play, which resumes this weekend with Juve second in their group) is the Primavera Coppa Italia semifinal return leg on Feb 23. Juve trails Lecce 3-1 after the first away leg. That game will be shown live on RAISport Satellite at 8:30 am EST.
Reminder that Juve's Primavera side will be playing their coppa italia semifinal vs Lecce tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8:25 am on RAI Sport Satellite. Good opportunity to see tomorrow's loaned-out players today.
1-1 was the final score. Juve got an early PK goal (scored by Michele Paolucci) but could not crack Lecce's defense for the vital second and eventually gave up the equalizer on the counterattack with only 8 minutes left. Lecce therefore advances to the final of the Primavera Coppa Italia, where they will face Milan.
The final phase of the Primavera championship is taking place this week. Today, Juventus beat Milan 2-0 in their quarterfinal match. Both of Juve's goals were scored by Rej Volpato, called by some "the new Del Piero", at least partly because he came to Juve from Padova. The game is being re-aired on RAI Sport Satellite at 6 pm tonight and 6:30 am tomorrow morning (eastern US time). Juve faces the winner of Cagliari-Roma in the semifinals.
Since I see that Juve's Primavera team won the championship this past season and a few of the players are sprinkled on Juve's training camp roster, I thought I'd revive this oooold thread and post last year's roster here (the ones in current training camp are in bold). Going back to earlier posts in this thread from LAST year's Primavera team, I see that Andre Luci and Andrea Masiello from that squad are also in camp. Here are the players in the Primavera team training camp at Chiusa Pesio. Portieri: Merlano, Pozzato, Vono. Difensori: Bassaoulé, Daleno, Ghione, Lagnese, Merceca, Pisani, Rizza, Storgato. Centrocampisti: Bottega*, Bianco, Campagna, Casentini, Cuneaz, Furgato, Vecchione, Venitucci. Attaccanti: Bonsanto, Dantoni, Giovinco, Lanzafame, Maniero, Rodriguez. *I believe it's a typo and is really Bettega. The squad has three friendlies planned: Aug 6 - vs Wolfsburg Aug 9 - vs Canelli Aug 13 - vs Asti
Bentivoglio, Criscito, De Ceglie, Marchisio and Paolucci are all performing admirably at top flight clubs!
Responded to this instead of starting another (Dante, if that's a problem, let me know and I'll start a new thread). Anyway, anybody now if the Primavera will be in the US this year?
