I thought it'd be nice to have a thread to keep of players - main squad or youth teams, Italy or other NTs - who get national team callups, especially as some of these might possibly interfere with Juve's season this year. Although I thought I read that the Juve-Brescia game on Oct 8 would be rescheduled. Is that so?

Anyway, here are some players who were called up in the last two days:

Italy Under-21 - Giorgio Chiellini, Raffaele Palladino
(they are supposed to be with the NT from Oct 1-11).

Italy Under-20 - Paolo De Ceglie, Sebastian Giovinco
(game is Oct 3 in Austria)

Answered my own question. Apparently, it had been brought up and was expected to happen, but it wasn't formally announced until today. The game has been postponed until Nov 1.

HE is scoring, something a lot of others are not, so yes he should get the call up, plus he seems to be passing out a lot of brilliant assists as well. Especially on Saturday.. Forza Del Piero, he has found his second breath

It may be a bit early to tell but I bet all three Juventini start for the Azzurri. I think we'll see Del Piero wearing No. 10 again. Who would've thought?

    Thanks for the thread Sue.

I guess I was mostly interested in the current ones because their absence could potentially disrupt the league campaign, but it now looks like the league is making an effort to avoid this from happening by moving this weekend's game. I think they are talking of making a rule that if any team is missing at least x number of players for international duty, they will postpone their game similarly.

Considering that the U21 teams plays the same dates as the seniors and a I imagine a good number of U21 players come from Serie B sides, it makes sense to give the same consideration.

Speaking of former players, did not Perrotta have a brief stay with Juve?

Abbiati? When was he at Juve? Was he riding the end of the bench playing in the Coppa Italia? I never remember him at Juve.

He started a lot of the games at the start of last season when Buffon was out injured, last season.

Camo, Trez, and Chiellini all scored goals for their respective national teams this week (Trez had two). Bojinov and Kovac both scored victories with their countries as well. And Gigi made it onto the final 30-player list for FIFA World player of the Year honors. It was a good week for Juve players, I'd say.

But now it's time to get back to business. ;)
