Well, folks, it's almost that time of year when our beloved bianconeri jump across the pond in search of a fast buck. (Oh, and training. Yeah... training.) Rumors are already swirling about potential matchups in DC, but in this article below, there's mention of Juve and Real Madrid in Las Vegas, and then coming east to play again at Yankee Stadium, where I'm sure the cheap seats will be going for somewhere around $75. (Stinkees gotta make a buck too, y'know.) http://goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/...rst-soccer-game-at-new-yankee-stadium/?src=tp I don't know how many of you have ever been to Las Vegas in July, but I can assure you it's not 72 and sunny. They say it's a dry heat, though. You know what else is a dry heat? My oven. Anyway, discuss the friendlies here.
wow vegas game in summer time?? i sure hope its a late night game...but even then its gonna be hot and dry! If they come to vegas, i will go for sure!
if they come here i will be there for at least one game! i really hope i get to see Alex one more time in the bianconero! d.c. and new york would be nice.
I'll be in Montreal then. Hopefully, they'll be playing at Yankee Stadium on August 8, but we'll have to wait and see.
For the US friendlies, we're not expected to see any of the Italian NT players, or any NT players from any of the remaining EURO 2012 teams. So, no Chi3llO, no Buffon, no Pirlo, no Barzagli, and no Marchisio.
Vidal should be there and playing. He's not partaking in anything this summer that I know of. Same with Lichtsteiner and Caceres. I imagine they'll all be playing since they'll have the Supercoppa and the Berlusconi Cup a couple of weeks after that, with the season starting on the last Sunday in August.
Oh, man. Now I'm going to really have to make a decision if they play in NY. I haven't been to the new overpriced trash hole known as Yankee Stadium, and I would like to go see it before it's further invaded by rats that look like Hank Steinbrenner, but those prices would be gaudy. However, the DCU tickets seem reasonable, but it is a longer drive. Plus, the Union play the following night, and I'm not sure how the missus is going to like that. Then again, it's my money, and I can tell her to pound sand. Decisions, decisions.
I didn't realize that it ended on July 1. I suppose they'd be back, but I'm sure that they'll want to rest, too, and I'm sure that management will want them to rest up.
I would think they'd want them to be back by the end of the first week in August, since the season start just three weeks later. Not at even.
ya eitherway they'll have to be back at camp for start of season so if they dont make aug. 5th game, they'd have to join the team later that week, at the latest. Besides its US friendlies which are pretty much vacation for players...and its vegas...i think they would come
Because we started preseason with Juventus this season in mid-to end of July. Our European international players will have played from July 2011 through May 2012. And once that is over, they immediately go to training with their respective National teams. Once the tournament is over, they deserve some rest. Especially after the season they just gave us.
A lot of you are making the assumption that Italy is going to the final. There's a very good chance that Italy will be done well before July 1st. Giving the players a month on (depending on when Italy goes out) would be about right here. I'd fully expect the International players to return something within the first week of August, even if they went all the way to the final.
If Prandelli took notes of our play this season, Italy can go very far. He would be a fool not to employ our system with our players.
Tickets are already on sale for the Madrid game in Vegas. You can get them here. http://ev2.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncomm...rContext=&caller=&appCode=&RSRC=TM&RDAT=ELIST
