At some point, you need to spend. I would spend that on Tonali, definitely over Pogba.

You have no way of knowing that. Pogba is just entering his prime and is at a shit club and has been injured all season.

Tonali has a lot of potential, but we really need to stop over-hyping him. I don't want him to move and then be a disappointment because people think he's the next Pirlo or whatever and then he doesn't live up to it (you know, like Pogba so far)

I was very disappointed in Pogba when he was placed in Pirlos role when Pirlo departed. His place kicks were more like rocket launches into low orbit and he seemed to trip over his own feet with every step. Parts of his game were electric but I can't remember him putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. So I ask, has he reached his full potential or will the clumsy pony become a graceful thoroughbred in another year

    Exactly.
And Tonali at 80 is money better spent than Pogba at 200

There is no denying that, but that doesn't mean Pogba can't or won't improve once he gets out of ManUre

This weekend's game against Inter could be played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus fears in Northern Italy. The league has reportedly asked that all games in northern Italy be played that way.

A derby d'italia with zero atmosphere, that sucks. Not only that, huge disadvantage for us since we're at home with no fans

If it's that bad, then I wish they'd just postpone the match altogether.

Juve vs Inter will be played behind closed doors, as will other games this weekend.

    What a farce.

Let's not gloss over the fact that people think that Pogba for 100-150 isn't better spent than 80 for Tonali? Pogba in his last year with Juve had a spectacular year, and led to him being the most expensive transfer in history (at that time). Pogba is a known quantity at a big club, Tonali is not. Pogba is just now entering his prime at the age of 26, Tonali is still far from a finished product who probably doesn't have a ceiling as high as Pogba.

Do I want Sandro Tonali in our midfield? Heck yea, no questions asked! But if it's Tonali for 80 or Pogba and 100-110, I would take Pogback back. Anything more than that, I would say go for Tonali.

I would like to reiterate, I want Tonali on the team, but 80m after 1 season on a relegation team is a bit steep (I think 50-55m is proper). One player is world class, the other could potentially be there.

Enough spending outrageous sums. It is all risky. When was the last time Pogba played? Do we need another oft injured midfielder? Who is Tonali. Let's do what we do best. Who will be out of contract this summer? Here is the list:

Giacomo Bonaventura (will satisfy Dante's Italian likings)
Jeff Hendrick (Burnley is in the EPL for a reason)
    Ashley Westwood (another Burnley product)
Robbie Brady (might as well go for the entire Burnley midfield line)
Charles Aránguiz (bargain for a Bundesliga player)

What do all of these have in common? No transfer fee!

Jack is a really good midfielder. Just that he's injury prone.

I get the feeling intercontinental matches may get locked out as well. 5-10,000 travelling fans makes for too large a vector to track particularly with open borders and ease of travel
