    Hi!
Is there anyone who has any information about Justin Davies - Charlie Davies's brother? All I know is that he's 17 y.o and that his position is CM.

There's a rumor going on that Justin will train with Hammarby this summer, so I would really appreciate some information about this player. Is he good? What's his strengths/weaknesses? And such information.

    Thnx!
    Forza Bajen!

played against him a few times...a solid high school player, not all-american quality...quick on the ball and smart. bit of a headcase though, but his team in general had a really weird dynamic. the bottom line is that he is only getting the attention he gets because of his brother. he's nowhere near what his brother was/is. a solid div. 1 prospect, but don't expect to see him in the professional ranks.

seeing as how you're a peer and competitor of Justin's we'll take your assessment with a grain of salt. Maybe he's not a pro prospect or his brother's equal, but pardon me if I question your scouting qualifications and motivation for tearing him down.

I thought he was just being honest. The OP asked for any information.

Who will give the best information? A competitor or a bunch of folks watching a TV screen?

Seemed like a simple, measured, response to the question. Good Player, Solid D1 player, Not a professional. Attention based on Brother being at Hammarby. Of course Hammarby is asking him to train because of his brother, duh.
Doesn't sound like tearing him down. Seems like you stepped over that line, not him.

And this coming from someone who has probably never played soccer at a high level. Although I don't know the original poster nor have I played against Justin Davies, I would say that you are just being inconsiderate and need to keep your posts to yourself. You don't have any better information on the subject, so instead of ripping on somone's opinion (who would know better than you would), maybe you should try and learn more about the subject before bashing the poster's credibility.

As a side note, I played against Charlie Davies in that same high school league and in club. I've always had the opinion that elder Davies was talented enough to make it in Europe since the day I first played against him at the age of 16. Take that with a grain of salt.

This discussion reminds me of the Beasley brothers, although the older/younger brother are reversed.

of course, the Groton kid has some valid insight having played against him, but to me his negative observations were out of line with published reports about Davies the younger. I've since gotten some substantiation to AHull's claims, so I'm willing to let time tell.

And for those who think my tone was too harsh...get a grip.

I would think that playing D1 college soccer as a 16 yr old this fall would do that.

I honestly have nothing against the kid at all, in fact I have tremendous respect for the Davies brothers and their accomplishments. I would like to think that my opinion is one that reflects the opinion of most people familiar with ISL soccer in general. The kid is sick, we know that, and he is definitely one of the best kids in the ISL, but to expect to see him in the professional ranks is really pushing it.
