hey guys...first of all i just want to say thanx to those who supported lucci and gave him hope to continue throughout the season. And to those who didnt like him...eat my....nah j/p. Im fine with that too..haha im not gonna ask everyone to like him.

Second...to make things clear...lucci would have liked to stay with the quakes but it was all depending on whether or not there was need for him.Frank made it clear that he could stay but in order to play more he would have to (adjust to the teams style) i g2g ill post again im in skool!

Hey golieboy while you are in skool you may want to take a course in basic grammar and spelling. Just a thought!

I met Lucci a few times throughout the season and always found him to be a very nice guy. I did enjoy watching him when he did get the opportunity to play, unfortunately if you really wanted to see him play you would have had to have gone to a session at West Valley. Good Luck to him!

I actually like Lucci......what part of the Quake system wasn't he picking up??? I thought each time he played that he actually made good things happen. I know my daughter is deeply saddened by lucci's departure.

Yes, golieboy (a.k.a. Lucci Gonzalez's brother!), where did Lucci not fit into the Quakes' way of doing things? You and I have met a number of times after the games, so could you fill us in a little bit. I've always liked Lucci and as ldb says, he did good things when he got on the pitch (as little as that was).

Not sure about fitting into the Quakes style of play...but I have a feeling that Frank told Lucci that if he wanted a better chance at PT, he should have prob gotten waived, and see if another team would pick him up. That's just my thinking though. I, for one, was told MANY of times by Lucci how unhapy he was to not be playing. It was very frustrating for him to be out there, and not get the PT he wanted.....he understood the circumstances, but was just so anxious to get out there. As sad as it is for me to see Lucci get waived from this team, I'm extremely hapy that he got picked up. Hopefully in Ohio, he will get more of a chance, and in the end, make Frank kick himself in the butt for his actions. I wish Lucci the absolute best of luck...he deserves it considerably! Lucci has a heart of gold for the game....he can go far when given a chance. I just hope Ohio is the place he gets the chance.

(PS: When C-Bus comes to SJ, you have to make the trip out here k? I'm gonna miss seein u to, not just Lucci..u know!)

to further the discussion. Maybe the option of picking Lucci back up after the draft was there also, but they both agreed to give another team the chance to pick him up. If not, then he might have been picked back up by us, and sat another season........?

    purely speculation, btw

I guess there goes my wish to see the Quakes style switch to suit Lucci's style of play.

see, there IS a side of me that knows what she is talking about. Honestly, I am not stupid, and I do have the ability to talk reasonably about a situation.......I honestly am not THAT bad! I'm just very stubborn when it comes to some things...:D

Yeah, it sounds scary to me too.

It sounds exactly like the stuff I told you on the phone yesterday when I called to tell you Looch had been picked up.

Oh except, you didn't mention the part about Lucci possibly asking for a waiver to weigh his options.

Who knows what really happened though.

At this point, I'm just glad that he has team to play for and we might get a chance to see him if he comes back to San Jose.

Haha, that wasn't Lucci that pissed in your cornflakes. That was me in an offical Lucci Gonzalez face mask. LOSER!

I think it's kind of bitter sweet for Lucci to be leaving SJ, BUT he's still playing with The Crew so "it's all good."

RSC, what's so good about him playing with Columbus? To tell you the truth, I kind of lurched when I read that was where he was going. Will he look good in a banana skin? And, golieboy01, don't forget the jacket when you come to the Bay Area. I don't want you Floridians catching cold! :) Say hello to Dad and Mom for us.

Albany: I'm just freaking happy he's still playing for the MLS, and maybe he'll actually play now. I do agree with the Bananna comment though.

LDB: If you only knew man......Russell told FY that he would mention him on his first rap record and that he'd get 5% of the profit he'd make off the first 3 rap albums he makes. That's why FY is keeping him, E-Dog is just playing soccer to take up his time. He already has a record contract and an album in the works. :D

Being the Lucci fan that I am :D I am glad he is staying in the MLS and wish him the best of luck.

Not only did I get to meet an awesome guy like Lucci, but, I met his awesome brother too. Kris is a nice dude so don't rag on him cause he can't spell. LOL.

RSC, that smacks just a bit too much of conspiracy theory. I refuse to believe that Frank would keep someone and cut someone else for reasons like that. Aside from that, Lucci is going to be up against some stiff competition in cow-pie land (Beerking called it something like that, I can't remember exactly) with Cowlumbus's group of guys up front: McBride, Cunnigham, Washington, Buddle. They might work him in as a midfielder, though, I remember a couple of nice runs up the right side and an excellent cross, although which game that was in I'm not sure.

No, she is totally joking dude. But I hope that one day Ian will be as popular as Eminem. LOL.

I think the game you are thinking about was the double header. I can't remember. I just remember being amazed. The whole "fitting in with the Quakes playing style" theroy, is possible, but that doesn't make him any less of a capable player.

I am going to get an offical replica Columbus jersey now w/ Lucci's name. :)

With Columbus, McBride is going to be out of contract and there are rumors of Dante Washington moving to DC, thus it makes sense that Lucci was picked up.
