The USA will be so bad that the US won't even make it out of the group as the host! The entire country will get to see how terrible their own country's team is.
The player pool will be fine. The coach will be different by then. But what I can't get out of my head is that the entire USSF needs to be completely cleaned out, and the only way that happens is if they're forced into it. I don't think US soccer fans are organized enough to make that happen, so here's what I think: The players need to step up. If it's as bad as it seems, and I think it is, all the players need to stop rejecting call ups. There needs to be a lockout. The USSF can make too much money off the soccer mom attending games, so we need the players to take control. I don't want Pulisic accepting any call ups until anything happens, and to talk out about how frustrated he is. He's the shining light for the USMNT and the poster boy, and if he goes against the federation all hell will break loose. McKennie, Sargent, etc. If any player has any shred of self-respect and for the progress of this sport in this country, they need to stop playing. it's the only way.
It is quite clear that this is mostly correct. That is US Soccer does not care about anything at any level except keeping their political power intact. Sometimes that can result in quality people getting into positions that allow them to have a positive impact on the program but most of the time it only results in small people that are only interested in personal power to get into positions of power. We seem to have produced a program where nothing good will happen unless it is an accident. However I expect nothing will change for the foreseeable future because too few people really care and too many are more worried about their paycheck rather than worrying about the program as a whole and most of the fans are too stupid to realize that the people on top do not really care. Kind of like in the government as a whole.
By 2026 we will have twice failed to qualify to the WC, a monument to the monumental stupidity of those who run Chicago House. Having the WC on our own soil will mean we will finally be able to party..like it was 1994. That's "Progress", folks.
My initial response reading this was dismissive. Stating as a fact that the US will miss two consecutive WCs. However, based on how we have been playing it is definitely not a long shot.

lol yeah as long as every player in the pool hit their peak, nobody gets hurt, and nobody fails to live up the hype...which a number on that list are already doing. you could've done the same 7 years ago
At this point, it's a certainty. USSF shows no signs of turning the ship around. If anything, the ship's going to be at the bottom of the ocean before the Hex even starts.
yall talking about 39 years young player/coach michael bradley? and why do i keep seeing the word lockout instead of strike?
No Donovan, McBride, Beasley, Pope, Reyna, etc., means not the strongest ever. Not even close. Pulisic is the only current player I would consider starting over one of the 2002-2006 core players.
Since this future roster doesn’t include players that are currently retired, it won’t be our strongest ever? Confused... Half of these players are in there professional infancy by the way, so I wouldn’t fault them too much for reaching that level.
Precisely. Outside of Pulisic, there is not one player that has even gotten to the point of sniffing any of the aforementioned jock straps. Its concerning to say the least
It will be interesting to see how Earnie and this USSF handle all the crap wrong with the entire fed, from scouting to communication issues and coaching. To see if they can build something competent. Results show they cant, but with Jay and Cordeiro not much will change if anything does, so theyll have time to prove how good or how inept they are. My money is on the latter, but we shall see.
