Weatherwise, the USMNT group stage games are set up for cooler or climate-controlled environments, which would also continue through the R32/R16 stages if the US finishes 2nd in the group (by playing in the domed stadiums in Dallas and then Atlanta). So our guys won't have to suffer in extreme heat for at least the first five games (assuming we advance) in that scenario. If we win the group, they play in the outdoor stadiums in Santa Clara and then Seattle in the next 2 rounds. If we advance as one of the 3rd place teams, we have a 95% chance of playing outdoors in NYC/NJ or Boston in the round of 32, and then maybe Philly in the round of 16. However, I think it might be advantageous for some matchups to be played in hotter weather. In the most recent friendly, I think Germany's press faded by the middle of the first half because of the heat, allowing the US to come into the game more. High temps might help us avoid being under constant siege if we go against other top-level European teams unaccustomed to steamy weather, so there might be a silver lining if we end up traveling to the humid northeast as a 3rd-place finisher.
I just hope for Australia, whoever referees that match is also from UEFA. If the USA gets a referee that decides to allow Australia to play Rugby League against Pulisic, the USA could run into significant problems.
My concern with LA wasn't a pro Paraguay crowd, but that it would be full of LA types wearing US jerseys but too busy live streaming or looking for celebrities to make some noise for the team. Glad to say I was wrong on that front.
