Bradley was happy to be back home and (thankfully) serious about putting together a quality, player-focused team. He also talked a lot about the local soccer community. As far as his tension with Nick, he claimed that he didn't really know him personally and that it was simply a rivalry between two competitive individuals. Both of them reiterated that AEG had nothing to do with the deal. The only player specifically mentioned (besides Faria for obvious reasons) was Clint. Bradley lauded his leadership, his talent, his ability to set the tone. Chiat Day is responsible for the logo. Oh and the lights and audio went out from time to time. Anasuya
So much for the "well documented" reports that no quality coach would work for the Metro as long as current management is running the team. Of course the conspiracy theorists will be pushing the "unnamed sources say" reports that AEG was behind the move. That's all they're left with and I don't doubt it will be referred to as gospel further down the road. Good luck to the Jersey boys, Passaic and Montclair/West Essex natives. We'll be there opening day. A positive vote on the stadium would give the Metro quite a hat trick this off season.
Expect a knee jerk reaction from some Metro fans even though the fate of the Harrison stadium is out of the Metro's hands for the time being and in the hands of the committee who decides to vote on the plan or not.
I am a little disappointed you couldn't sort out the AV problems during the press conference. What kind of office boy are you?
You brought it up. We're just basing our responses on history, bucko. If the committee decides not to vote on it, is it still out of the Metros' hands? Or are they just gonna hand out kneepads for the fans for when they show up at the Meadowlands?
Uh, good one, fella, but that post was signed. Not by Jeff Bradley, but by Anasuya (who did a helluva job with the huge ESC banner). Thanks for the report, Suya.
Don't get me wrong, I think the logo isn't half bad, but two things about this statement are bugging me. 1. Where did the Metros get the money to hire a top notch advertising name like TBWA/Chiat/Day? -I can only imagine the league hired them, which begs the question, "If we are losing money hand over fist, where did they get the money?" -And now that I think I realize AEG probably called in a favor. 2. Is that really the best thing TCD could come up with? I do like the jersey, subtle difference but looks good.
To be more specific regarding the new logo design as per the press release: "It was designed in a collaborative effort by the MetroStars marketing department, Rich Levy of MLS and the advertising agency TBWA Chiat/Day New York."
Please for the love of god, take your paranoid delusions and lose the link to this forum. TEAMS HAVE BUDGETS. TEAMS HAVE MONEY. THEY CAN SPEND AS THEY PLEASE. You have no idea about the Metros finances, as nobody does but the people who handle them at the MFO, AEG and MLS HQ. Everything else is bs.com guesses.
Re: Re: Just got back from Bradley press conference If all they were hired for was to create a logo and do no branding, etc... of it. The costs would be minimal. Akin to hiring a PR company to write a press release and do nothing for it. A few grand, no more then 10-15 tops. And odds are Chiat handed it off to someone low on the rung and just had an exec sign off on it.
Hey ass. I am not suggesting anything. TCD is a top level advertising firm and they don't come cheap. Get over yourself. Mbrossetti, a while after I had posted my comments I thought about it and I realized it was most likely a collaborative effort with minimal contributions by TCD. Thanks for handling my comments with maturity.
