Reyna is coming from last to claim a spot at the last minute. He's been getting more appearances and minutes and now a goal.
That is good news, glad for him to get a contribution like that. Now we shall see, does he now get some confidence and rhythm going and turn that into production and consistency? or do we go right back to the same song and dance with limited minutes and meh showings? Obviously I hope for the former, but will be watching. Unfortunately it is so close to the end of the season, not much time to go on a run.

Just saw the goal, his form is always impeccable in those situations in and around the box. While maybe not the toughest of chances, he executed it very well and put his foot through the ball with confidence. It is just a matter of him getting on the pitch, staying on the pitch, and getting into those positions frequently. And he'll have to contribute in other areas as well to get playing time, he can't act like a luxury player, those days are far behind.
The goal wasn't even really the headline, it's that his touches were good, and he generated the most chances in the match despite only playing in a third of it. There were a couple passes that could plausibly have wound up as assists.
Just as an FYI, the Bundesliga PR team made Reyna and Scally available to a selected group of reporters via a zoom call today. Hence, you will see a lot of pieces on the two either today or tomorrow. It's similar to when we saw a wave of Banks articles back in Feb/March.
Hopefully he can start this weekend. The team has nothing to play for and he scored a goal and created a bunch of chances off the bench last game.

I did not watch the game, only the goal. Glad he scored, glad he put in a good shift. I did hear on the "Scuffed Podcast," a mostly pro-Gio gang, that while it was encouraging, they noted the game had tons of space and open gaps all over the pitch and the midfield. After watching this Gio comp, that appears to be the case. Wide open space and all day to be on the ball - so it will be interesting to see if he can replicate that vs teams showing more pressure and intensity. I am not trying to take away from the postive performance, I am hopeful it continues. But after watching that comp, I'm just saying I am not yet ready to join in any refrains of "He is Risen."
With BL1 play for next season secured, Glabach had nothing to play for but Augsburg are chasing the Conference League slot in a 3-way between them, Frankfurt and Freiburg. The teams are separated by just one point and with the worst GD in that trio, Augsburg had to keep pouring forward to bolster their Goals For column. Reyna did well in his cameo, showing what he can do with space and time on the ball but it's not as if he had to work very hard to create that space and time.
You can only play what's against you, which he did and did well, and that's the 3rd game in a row that he's been given more PT — 32 minutes means a coach and FO with confidence in his fitness for one thing, and they believed, rightly, that he would affect the game. It's just that what you might call a "competitive friendly" can't offer more than encouraging signs. They're there is the good news. Let's enjoy it and hope for the best in the WC
Reyna enters at 67’, part of a triple sub, Gladbach up 2-0 (and Hoffenheim down to ten men). Gladbach extend the lead to 3-0, now 4-0. Finishes 4-0, Reyna +2!
I know it's sometimes meaningless but I remember thinking earlier in the year when he wasn't getting minutes the team always seemed to do well when he played even when he was getting a lot of criticism. I think a lot of coaches just don't know what to do with him. I also agree his defense isn't that great but being one of the few who help keep possession while adding occasional killer through balls is one form of defense. The other team can't score without the ball or if it is always in the other half.
Faster than the keeper and 30 yr old Kleindeinst who has been injured the entire season and got a 6 minute end of the campaign run out. On the plus side, didn’t appear that hard sprinting was required at that point of the match.
