    hey everyone,

Just got back from the game and it was great. Except for the score. We lost 1-0 on a Lilly goal in the second half. :(

It was an absolutely perfect day for the game, I might add. I think I was the only fan wearing Freedom stuff too. I saw a couple of Mia jerseys, but no other Freedom stuff. The really cool thing was - and I will believe this until proved otherwise - is that while Mia was warming up she saw me and waved to me! There weren't too many people in the stands yet, just a row of girls down in front of me and a few scattered people in the stands. I was kind of elevated and all alone. I swear she looked right at me, decked in full Freedom regalia, and waved and gave a thumbs up. I was like, is she waving at ME??!! So I waved back. LOL!!

She seemed to be in an especially good mood today too. She was smiling a LOT and kinda being funny. She was doing these funny little moves with the ball and all. Ah the joys of the "Nomar effect" LOL!

And one last Mia tidbit, so I don't have you all barfing at my fawning, but she was en fuego again today. The girl must drink rocket fuel. Unfortunately, she was unable to finish and I think she tweaked her knee near the end of the first half. There was a bit of a collision and you could tell she felt something. She bent over several times and pulled up her toes. She stayed in for about 15 or 20 minutes of the second half and then went out. She then stretched and had it iced.

Akers looked really good out there today! It was great seeing her doing her thing again. It would be wonderful to see her out there again full time, but I doubt it. She only played a half and then had her right knee iced. The tribute bit at half time was wonderful. It was really touching and some of the video stuff was hilarious. I especially enjoyed Lorrie Fair's anecdote. She was saying how terrifying it is to have Mich come charging at you and that during one game she was head to head with Bai Jie. "Mich is like 3 times the size of her and comes barrelling in..." And she describes how Jie was wearing a headband and when Akers goes in for the tackle, the ball goes flying, Jie goes flying and the headband goes "bink!" flying off her head. It was soooo funny hearing her tell that story...

Kristine, Carla, Mia and Michelle all gave little speeches that were really nice and Michelle was truly touched and a bit choked up by it all. Carla was making Mia laugh and Mia told her to stop it.

I'm really kicking myself for not having brought my video camera for this. It was definitely worth saving, sigh...

As for the GAME, well, Boston sure seemed to have a lot more shots on goal than the Freedom. Only one went in, but that was all that was needed. C-Moore did her white-on-rice thing pretty well.

Maren Meinert had a couple of good runs, but the defense rallied and shut her down. I think it was her that clanked one off the cross bar. I'm trying to think of particular plays that were great, but... my mind is mush. Hopefully someone who is better at game analysis than me was there and can do that job much better for you to read.

Meredith Beard actually got some playing time and looked pretty good out there too. Also, there was someone I didn't recognize out there. She wore number 29 and didn't have a name above her number, so I don't know who it was. She kinda reminded me of Kathy "Milbrett" (who will probably slap me for that! LOL!) She came in for a bit in the second half. Also, Makinen had been subbed out, but went back into the game near the end. Guess they allow that for exhibitions.

Unfortunately I had to tear out of there immediately following the game, so didn't get to do any of the after game stuff, like autographs and pix and just soak up the atmosphere and all. I just hope I didn't miss them calling my name for the jersey raffle! In fact, I had to spend $27 on a taxi ride to make sure I got to the airport on time - last flight was 8:30 and I'd be stuck otherwise. damn.

Well, anyway, I had a great time and saw Nat there - he even made sure to call out nice and loud that I was wearing the wrong team's stuff. Oh no, I wasn't! LOL!!

The attendance was 10,297 - wow!

    What about Abby?
Did Siri play the entire match or did Hoverman and Fahey get some playing time as well?
    What about Noftsinger?

Yeah, Abby played and she and Mia did their usual runs, but they just didn't work tonight. Abby got a "what was that for" foul and Mia got called offside twice, one of which I really felt was a bad call. Bet she woulda scored on that one too.

Fahey started the game and then Siri came in in the second half. They both played well, except for that one play, which I missed cuz I was fiddling with my camera. Well, I saw Lilly strike it, but missed the set up and who was out of position etc.

Noftsinger was in there too. Can't say much about her play, cuz I really wasn't watching.

Hey Norma thanks for the great report. What did Carla say that was so humorous, and how badly do you think Mia tweaked her knee? In the 15 or so minutes she played in the 2nd half did she look okay as far as speed etc...were concerned? Funny I remember reading that Akers and Hamm were not so close.

That was probably Robin McCullough, the player borrowed from the Maryland Pride. According to the ticker, she came in for Mia Hamm.

No exhibition game for this woman. At one point the Freedom had a corner kick so Mia was in very deep. The ball was cleared out to Jena Kluegel on a dead run near the sideline, even with the top of the 18. Mia caught Jena before she got to midfield.

And Sobrero courted a caution by laying a major hit on Hamm near the same touchline. Just old friends getting reacquainted. :)

Mia did not come out to do the autograph alley thing so that the "M" screams were for Michelle. When she did come out for an interview, after most folks had left, the staff took her to the far end of the field, away from the exiting crowd.

I don't know what Carla was saying to Mia to crack her up, as Mia had the mike and Carla was kinda muttering stuff to Mia, which made her laugh and had her tell her to stop.

That run that Nat mentions is the one that had my eyes pop outta my head - holy crap! how the heck did she catch her??!!

The foul by Sobrero is the one I think she tweaked her knee on. It didn't seem to affect her speed any though. As I said, she bent over and stretched her leg by pulling up her toes a couple of times, but wasn't limping or anything.

During the halftime stuff, Mia even initiated a group hug between the 4 of them. :D She presented Michelle the flowers she was holding, hugged her and before you knew it they were all hugging. The 4 stood with there arms around each other during the video bit, until Lilly finally sat down on the grass to watch the end of it. I can't see them (Michelle and Mia) being buddies though. Has anyone noticed that Skylar has developed a bond with her though? It's cute to watch them during warmups, on the sidelines or if Mia goes down, she usually goes over to check on her. She and Abby were goofing during warmups yesterday as well.

(ok Norma, there ARE other players on the team... I know that, I know that, I know that... LOL!!)

I do wish the Littles were there. The two of them definitely add a spark to the game. Grubb was solid, as was the entire backline for the most part - every time a Breaker would break away :) they converged. Well, except that one time, darn it! I also missed Steffi. Oh! and Emmy Barr sure was pushing up top a lot! She made a couple of great runs herself. I thought for sure she'd score a goal at some point. I really don't like ragging on players, but Milburn does NOT impress me. Gives up the ball too much, has no flair, I don't know. Sure wish we had some stats on the game. Gotta go check the Freedom site. I don't think the Breakers site had stats with the report.

Other players?? *looks around* Where? :D

    j/k

I have noticed that Sky and Mia really get along well. They seem close. :) Now, tell me, since I'm a big fan of both Abby and Mia, how were they goofing around? I think it's so great that Mia's adopting the "children."

Mia did lobby for Skylar to get on the team when everything started to get off the ground.

    Some other notes...

Carrie Moore was unbelievable last night... cleaning up and solid..and covering everywhere...... very solid outing for her.

Angela Hucles ... well.. I don't know what to say... thank god she was in blue last night is just a small tribute to her....... She seems to be gaining more confidence getting forward..and she had a few shots that were fabulous... obviously, no goals.. but the vision, the speed, the changing of directions, the playmaking were all connecting... and she was a treat to watch.... I look forward in large amounts to seeing more of her with the Nats...

While singing autos .. there were roars of "Michelle!!" and what looked like a mini-wave that emerged.. as she ran from side to side signing autos.... very sweet...

Norma didn't mention it..but another great part from Mich's halftime thank you speech was when she noted that she brought in one of her former surgeons and his wife..he's done (7-8 surgeries on her) ... she wanted to thank him for all of his work..and something like "to be here in case I need another surgery at the end of the game.."

Carla Overbeck was world class throughout the pre-during-and-post game happenings.. I know you all know this... but she went above and beyond last night...... and deserves a mention....

Lil took a clearance off the stomach to the face.... ouch!

Yeah, I know I only made a brief "white-on-rice" comment regarding Moore, but yeah, she sure made her presence known last night! I did more than one "yesssssss!" regarding the things she did last night.

And yeah, Carla was awesome. Another champion who deserves recognition. Her leadership and vision certainly have been part of the backbone of what the USWNT has become.

Wish I was better at remembering all the details.

Great, great game and event. Shoulda been broadcast. sigh...

Oh, and speaking of Hucles, did anyone notice at a recent game one of the announcers pronounced her name as if it rhymed with buckles? I thought that was pretty funny. The announcer last night had a hard time with a couple of names as well. Hers might have been one of them - which is not good for a HOME game! LOL!!

:) I did catch that. The dork, whose name escapes me right now, that does the NT games pronounced it that way during the USA vs. Scotland match.

Not to press, but you didn't answer my question. hehehe :D

    "Shoulda been broadcast..."

No kidding.... a suggestion was made to have had the game played at 4 pm and been televised on PAX........ could this have worked? Or would the funding have been off..... NSTAR sponsored the game... the great NSTAR people.... (at least they are since I give them money every month.. :D)... and the great NSTAR VP whose three daughters did the ceremonial kick..how cute were they?.......

Another not-posted item would be that the Breakers gave away signed jerseys (away ones) at the end of the game..... as the players went on..they became more slap happy in the way they announced the person who won...... I remember Gonzalez's.. "Lucky number 7...." and Hucles, "... come on down!!!......" and then one player (I forget who).. misread the last name and said, "Monica Gerardo!! Oh wait.. Monica G......" it was really funny :)

Oh... should I not forget.. is this ANY example of Joe Cumming's "Executive of the Year" brilliance??? Come on.. this isn't Breakers celebrating in a Freedom forum.. it's more like event celebrating......

Mia was announced by Joe as "A great friend of the Boston Breakers.. Mia Hamm"..at half time

Joe also combined the stats of the 4 (Overbeck, Lil, Mia, and Michelle) when announcing them... commenting on Mia's "world leading scorer..." Lil's "most international games played for a man or woman..".. Carla's "she scored the game winning goal in overtime in a play off game against Atlanta that sent her team to the Founders Cup II"...

*thinking..there's more.. I know there is...*

Mich..when responding to the video tribute... in particular... Cindy Parlow's comment about how Mich was 40 when CP started on the NT..said, "I'm gonna boot her.." or "I'm gonna... Cindy Parlow" I forget the word..... it was funny!

She also said that since her teammates didn't tell any of the NT stories of which there were PLENTY to tell..she wouldn't tell all of the "stuff you do like with family..but all of the nice stuff you say in public.." what a line to remember! She's such a class act...................

On the side..the half time ceremonies were almost better than the game itself....... well... seeing Mich, Mia, and Lil on the field again... sigh... Thanks Michelle and Joe..and all of the Breakers staff.. NSTAR..and the fans who travelled near and far to attend the game.... truly.... I appreciate it!!!!! (Norma, too..no? *g*)

At times..too..back to game stuff.. Grubb seemed a bit shaky......... Siri had a save or two that weren't "stuck" saves... slight juggles of the ball... one was a shot from Kemp (I believe)... or was it Lil? Probably Lil.........

The Washington D tied Kemp up on a run down the stadium/fans sideline.... she had them completely beat..and they came back..and nothing happened... well done Washington D......

Given the crowds of auto seekers... the teams (both) were incredibly giving of time for autos..... and a kudos is well deserved by all.......

Thanks you guys for all the reports. Really apreciated. Especialy the Mia stuff.
Yeah I've noticed how Skylar is always the first to run and hug Mia when she scores. And when the win games. It's sweet, but against the grain of everything that we know about Mia. Isn't she supposed to be like mean and stuff? (yeah thats bitter sarcasm)

Quick question, who was Rice marking?

    Lil at times.. maybe Meinert.....

Lil and Noftsinger were on each other..and Nofts held Lil up a few times... then later on Lil totally shook her off... swift Lil moves..

Did anyone mention yet that Lil was "hungry" during the game... that arggghhhhh.. I'm gonna score.. I'm gonna win..... hunger...

Other Mia notes.. hmm..well..the majority of the opening video (pre-game) was almost ENTIRELY Mia spoken.. :D Some Mich reflecting on her career...

No Mia quotations in the program though.. a VERY nice one from Foudy, Lilly, Tiffeny Milbrett (world class on that one)

For the record..video (half time) commentaries came from..

Lilly, Sobrero, Hucles, Kluegel, Ducar, Chastain, TR, Clemens, Fair, Fotopolous, Overbeck, Hamm (?), was there a LeBlanc one?.... Riise ("you could tell she loved the game"- that was something that stands out.... 1. Norwegian, 2. the professionalism and class from Riise and Akers..VERY nice indeed! :)), Venturini-Hoch..... Cindy Parlow.. Milbrett.... were there more Breakers..maybe... Donna DeVarona..

No Foudy.. I think Fawcett had air time in the pre-game one...

Umm...soo much more..... trying to remember it coherently......

The random cries of "MIA!!!" did come up from the crowd at times....

As Norma mentioned.. about the usual amount of BU students looking on.... they seemed generally more respectable last night.. more interested maybe? yes..even during the summer (reg. season) we/Breakers do attract a fair amount of students on the sidewalks.... it's a nice touch.. one game there were cheerleaders (I think it was the NY 4 August game).. and they started cheering at the end of the game.. all decked out in red and white... LOUD cheers... about 2 or 3 of them.. fun stuff...

Hoverman signed and signed and signed..and wait..did I say signed until she was literally pulled away..... and then she apologized as she left...

Lil did the same... both had their hands up in the air... ("I don't have a sharpie...".."I have to go..")

During the video (half time) there was a remark.. was it by Lil.. I think.. who said, "yeah.. she scored.. 30..40...oh maybe 50 or 60 goals for the NT..." again...very funny....

Chastain appeared to get teary eyed during her tribute..and it was such professionalism and class..... some of the tributes had us crying, others laughing (Norma described Fair's ... such a classic!).. and then some were pure class..

Sobrero told of how she had a poster of Lil, Fawcett, and Akers on her wall or college dorm room...

Jena told about how the letter that Akers wrote her back after the 91 WWC was "probably still framed somewhere".. it was such a cute Jena moment... endearing honesty...

A BU Sr. (female) sung the Nat. Anthem.. REALLY well done... sigh.. sound system cracked it though..... one of the best of all season....

Of all of the Freedom who stood out.... besides Rocket Hamm... Noftsinger.. Fahey (really impressive overall...)... Makinen ... and I'm fading again.... need food .. and then maybe more will come back in a coherent fashion...... if Qs..ask..

Alana: you're very welcome.. I wonder at times if I am making sense... I don't do the pbp very well.. but I do do the remembering of events and emotions wonderfully...

    Ah.. oh more......

Keri Sanchez... unbelievable...... I don't know..maybe 6th-7th minute in the game... flying run up the field along the fan side of the field... cruising.. defenders there..but well..not there... and later on.. just really really really spectacular play..... it was soooo good to see this again..... on that I mean.. any time a player plays well.. irregardless of team.. it's a great thing..and Keri had the spark lit again...

From the free program... "What They're Saying About Michelle"

Tony Dicco.... "Michelle Akers represents the new model of a champion...a fierce competitor adn warrior on the field; compassionate, thoughtful, intelligent, empathetic off the field; a leader in life. This new model of the champion, as in Michelle's case, may just be a woman. I have coached or seen them all...she is the best woman taht has ever played the game of soccer."

Tracy Ducar..."Never ahs anyone dominated the game like Michelle. She payed attention to every little detail in her game, never satisfied, always striving for perfection. Little did she know she played as close to perfection in all aspects of the game as I think we'll ever see."

Kristine Lilly...."The one thing I enjoyed most about Michelle (besiders her being gullable and laughing ath her, oh, I mean with her), is competing against her in practice. I was always determined to not let her turn, not let her get a shot off, and to win the ball. Half the time I did and half the time she beat me, but the one area she has yet to beat me is in our sprint contest.....keep trying Mich!"

(If this doesn't make you laugh..nothing else will!.. This print version was also very much like Lil's halftime video tribute... Something about "Well... since you're playing, I guess you're retired....")

"It will be great for Michelle to finally be able to wear a WUSA uniform. She had so much to do with the creation of this league and for her not to have a chance to play in it was truly unfortunate. She was so inspirational on the field as a teammate and I am sure the fans in Boston will enjoy seeing the fighting spirit one more time."- Julie Foudy

(We wish Foudy could have been there..... and yes.. we - Boston fans- were loving every moment of it......... )

"Michelle was the first female soccer star in the United States. She has been instrumental in the success and progress of the sport in this country. She has sacrificed so much to help create the wonderful opportunities we now have- soccer in the Olympics and the WUSA. Thank you Michelle for all of your hard work and inspirational play!"- Keri Sanchez

"There is just so much to say about Michelle, she is truly the pioneer of women's professional soccer as we know it today. Akers has made so many firsts for women in the sport of soccer, I don't know where we would be without her." - Tiffeny Milbrett

"Very few have earned as many honors, records and as much respect as Michelle Akers. She is a true pioneer and a inspiration to all. Good luck today, Michelle!"- Donna Lopiono, Ph.D., Executive Director, Women's Sports Foundation

"To me, she's a superstar...the First Lady of Soccer. Total class describes Michelle Akers."- JP Dellacamera

In all honesty..and a reality... the sponsors were GREAT............. this league would not be anywhere without them....and they turned out left and right for the game....... NSTAR didn't sponsor the Breakers for the season... NSTAR sponsored the game..... NSTAR (in case you are not familiar) is an electric company....

The Breakers staff is also to be COMMENDED FULLY for this game... From Joe's first idea.... to the completion of it..well.. you who are reading.. still are experiencing it....... we all did..though some of us were live and others of us were alive..and alive through the words of posts such as these on this forum..........

I don't think it's been noted before here.... there was an air of relaxation..of playfulness.. of regular-season-freedom!..... exhibition... sure! Hard play..you betcha... evil enemies fighting against each other... not a chance......... it was world class..... though I thought the 1st half was rough.... no real flow...... it didn't have that smooth feeling to it..

I noticed that Yohe (20 Breakers) was playing on the left..and would pass the ball immediately horizontal to Michelle..... Perhaps it was the game plan...to get her as many touches (as possible) or perhaps it was smart soccer...... I thought it was class, honor, and respect.....

Mich remarked in her half time speech "The Breakers had better win..." since she wouldn't be playing the 2nd half..... soaring spirit ... continues...........

Overbeck was gracious at the post game autos..... she didn't sign along the boards at first.. however.. after some time there were shouts of "OVERBECK!!!" and she gladly went and signed for a few moments....

Her flying in for the game speaks volumes... signing autos in the Fan Zone before the game.. there was a definite sense that she made the night more fun for a lot of the players... :)- shining smile... As Norma noted one example would be her making Mia laugh and Mia shouting "Stop it!" with mic in hand and on.... and Mia waving or using hand/arm movements at Carla to get her to stop...

Mich was gracious with Joe Cummings... thanking him for the night...and hugging him during half time speech..... such class..... real humanity.. you know.. so often it's not seen on the field... (not play, but surface)... seemed like the heart came out.... it did............... and Joe seemed genuinely touched, too.......

Was a short half time.. 6 minutes if that..so the players stayed on the field.... mostly..... Siri was warming up during the end of the half time ceremonies with Dave Vanole.. short (distance) leaps and catching of the ball... respectful.. you know..not a pre-game warm up.. beyond the 18 yard box... within the or a bit beyond the 6 yard box.. just maybe..a foot or two outside of the 6....

Again.. I'm fading a bit.. not sure what "is important" vs "what's not important" to share with you all....

Mich jerseys red and blue Nats on sale at the concession stands... too bad they didn't have a tall person one! *g*

And again..when my mind drifts.. I think of the Breakers staff.... and ALL of the work from the season that it took to get the game on..and a sell out!!!!! In case you didn't know..there was a Red Sox game at 5, too..... Fenway is about 1.5 miles down the road (east) of Nickerson.... Having two big games simultaneously...and selling out on Thursday.... wow!!!!... The staff worked their butts off to say the least....... and they deserve to be commended in every way......... I don't know of a fan who was disappointed.... or didn't receive his/her money's worth..the sight of Michelle in a Blue Breakers jersey with a 10 on it was priceless.... and this isn't a bad comercial either (though I think they/Breakers should have or SHOULD market it as such.... Sovereign Bank is a sponsor..do a VISA-like comercial... etc etc etc "Michelle Akers, in a Breakers uniform, priceless.. Sov. bank the official bank of the Breakers..")

I'll think of more..share later... hmm.. hang on...

Weather- always a factor...cooler by 1/2 time.. nice breezes.. got dark quickly in the 2nd half... pretty night...............

In the 2nd half.. Breakers.. got to see a LOT of BEAUTIFUL 1-2 combos of Kemp and Borisjuk..... (notice it please, Pia!)... when they didn't work flawlessly.. or needed to pass back.. Kluegel and/or Hucles were there.....cleaning up.. regrouping.. continuing the play.... (in the offensive 1/3)...REALLY REALLY nice stuff.....

Maren annoyed the Wash defense a fair amount... *laughing*...(she does to any team..and I get a BIG kick out of her when she does it... sort of like hmm.. who on Wash eats defenses up... of course Hamm, but is there another player who does so that you enjoy watching it...... well.. that's Maren for many of us Breakers fans....).... they thought they had the ball..they gave her an inch...or three or four..and she kept driving them nuts! *laughing* it was great...

You know..by the end of the night.. I was tired..and by the time Rigs came in I was like, "oh gosh..another player to watch...." *laughing* that likely sounds horrible, except I was EXHAUSTED.... LONG...Day....

Rigs didn't impress me to terribly much.. since I wasn't fully paying attn, don't take too much into this.... Norma hopefully will provide more help..if she remembers :D...

Rigs had a few turnovers on the stadium/fan sidelines.. near the Wash goal.. I remember going, "Huh??" cause to me they didn't seem to be turnover situations... it was likely early on (soon after) when she got in the game........ as the short period of her being in progressed.. the passes were better.. she seems to be a mid-speed player, no? Some short bursts of speed..but nothing blow-you-away speed... no Mia, no Kemp.. no Sanchez in the 1st half... Carla speed? *g*- kidding! (trying for a laugh here)

Beard actually impressed me a lot...... she was working very hard all night.... and had some great touches.... really pushing forward ..and trying to make things happen... relentless... she tied up I wanna say Kluegel or Borisjuk or Kemp..maybe Lil on the sidelines near Hospitality (opposite stands side) near the Wash goal.. corner area..actually about 4-5 yards out... should have been a nice run in... but she pushed the Breaker outside and defended very nicely.....

Post game Beard was very impressive... Autograph Alley was moved.. normally it's on the East side of the stadium (Fenway)... last night it was on the west side (under the wall where the BU students stand..under the dorms..)... and sign boards behind the goal were left up, a nice corridor (PACKED) was filled in with fans... most of the players signed along the sign boards... Beard went outside... to the back.. along the Breakers wave fence (metal fence covered in "Breakers" and "wave" tarps) and signed there... some fans shouted for her..and she pointed and said something like "I'm going back here.." Instead of the 1st 2-3 rows getting autos.. the others on what would have been the "last" row got autos..and I think Hoverman might have been back there for a bit, too.....

Security was great- for all of the possible concerns..... (in other forums as has been noted)... no problems...

Again...back to specifics.. on Wash players.. hmm...

This may be an obvious one..but since I don't have cable.. nor am I in the Wash area.. and didn't attend ND games on a regular basis.. but Makinen really impressed me.... calm.. smart... and a level beyond the rest of the team...... She had a few rough moments... turn overs..errant passes... not "great" play by any means..but then the times that she was on (more than her not being on) she astounded me.... it was the "Okay..there's the Finn again..."

One player not mentioned a lot.. Gerardo had a very solid night...... wow.... pushing up with Mia and Abby..and igniting the DC offense.... sheesh..or holding the ball so Abby and Mia could make runs and then a pass..... beautiful..... really really solid......... not spectacular... but solid..... more than enough to have me comment "Wow....." in an appreciative way.

I'm guessing the lack of Jones hurt the Freedom the most... and maybe Skylar.... the D seemed a bit conjested???... not too organized at times... and as the 2nd half progressed Boston kept pushing..and pushing..and forward........ and Lil and Maren kept growling...and digesting..and finding more and more chances.... and then Alexa and Allie got in there..and fresh legs..and Wash looked skiddish at times....

Moore kept her game up... I don't think that she ever waivered at all... 1, 2, 4 passes maybe... sheesh..in a span of 90 minutes that ain't too shabby, huh? :)

Again... I'm fading in and out at times..so Q away..easier that way to respond.. more direct.. more target focused...

Most of the Freedom staff was there... soccer anyways.. no Clyde..

Breakers were coached by Jape Shattuck.. (former W's soccer head coach at Harvard)..

Hucles was on the tape. She was very effusive in her honest praise for all that Michelle was and did. And when the video was shown Angela was blushing badly.
And I got a great, positive, reaction from many Boston supporters when I BOO'd the Hammster during a second half run. ;)
Nope. Jape was the men's coach during the 80's. More recently he had been the JV women's coach.

Jape and Jeff Pill ran the Coach's Corner sessions at Nickerson Field this year. Jape is an excellent tactician with a very fine series of coaching tapes based upon statistics and footage from the '98 World Cup.
There were some fun sequences where Moore was marking Meinert 1v1. Classic attacker/defender stuff. Oh, to have that on tape...
