http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/2677317.stm Zimbabwe FA under investigation by FIFA. I'd say that if FIFA doesn't find anything then, well I don't know but there sure is a lot of stench coming out of Harare.
Just another to hate Mugabe IMO and pray for the political situation there to somehow get resolved, resolve itself, or be forced into resolution by some outside force with teeth who cares about more than just power and prestige but about people getting shafted big-time. Thank god political scandals here in the US don't affect footballers. I feel bad for the guys on the squad who probably want to play and make a decent wage and don't give a f**$ about Mugabe's power plays. I just get burned with any politicians whose machinations screw with "the beautiful game."
FIFA is giving the Zimbabwe $40,000 US.... "CASH-strapped Zifa, reeling from their worst financial and leadership crisis, recently got a huge shot in the arm when world soccer governing body Fifa released the first tranche of their assistance grant for this year." http://allafrica.com/stories/200302140220.html
