Looks like this I think. Going with the more experienced YNT guys to start. GK: SzewczykRB: ChadwickRCB: MbayeLCB: VejrostekLB: ForforDM: MolinariCM: SpiveyCM: GarciaLW: TurdeanRW: OstranderCF: Jakupovic https://t.co/Bj1R7TH42X— Marcus Chairez | US/SC (@USSoccerColl) June 7, 2026
Being dominated thru 20... still 0-0 though. Our CMs keep giving the ball away and our FBs have no answer on the edge defensively accept taking a foul. I like the look of our tall CB but other than that?... pretty hard to watch.
Also, this game started out physical from the get-go, and has been pretty ugly, though I suppose short of dirty. Still, these guys need to play each other in a couple of days.
Should be an own goal. Not sure why the goal scorer celebrated like he did something great. That was tragic.
Pretty impressed with Mbaye's size, pace and athletic ability. Captaining the side as well.... but it's 2-0 now off a corner. They look very unprepared defending set pieces. This is going to get ugly.
Brazil just living in the final third. Would’ve had a PK but for an offside call and our keeper made a nice save on another incisive pass and well struck shot.
It looks like Mbaye captained in 2025. Dude is the only player who looks like he belongs on the pitch w/ Brasil. It's been an embarrassing half.
Mercifully the first half comes to a close. As @glutton4Bolts said, that was pretty thorough domination by Brazil.
This is going to come off harsh, and I apologize to parents of players reading this.Yes, Brazil is very good and they are at home, but that was an embarrassment. Not a single player in a U.S. shirt showed the quality, bravery, or creativity to match that level of opponent. The…— Marcus Chairez | US/SC (@USSoccerColl) June 7, 2026
Probably the most striking thing about this game for me (at halftime, anyway) is the degree to which the U.S. just looks completely outmatched at almost every position and certainly as a team, which is something you just don’t see much these days. We simply cannot find the game at all — someone will get a decent touch, take half a step, and then the ball is just off their foot and headed in the other direction before our guy can get his head up. You’d be forgiven for wondering if Brazil’s guys were all a year older than ours. I can’t speak to all the forces that might be contributing to this, I’m sure there are several, but that’s the vibe. They’re also playing in a massive stadium on a big field with a decent crowd. Obviously that is fine but I do think big fields create kind of a weird dynamic at this age level. Whatever, both teams have to play on it!
I'm sorry, but Garcia and Turdean are not ready for this level. They are decent prospects, but arguably aren't even top 5 players in the 2010 age group. They can't impact the 09's. The group of Ostrander, Sokoloff, Dimareli don't bring enough dynamism. Maybe 1 of them can be… https://t.co/4QFCnSAZ14— USMNTProspects (@ProspectsUsmnt) June 7, 2026
