Albania staying alive so far after the ejection.
Let's see if they can just avoid getting slaughtered the rest of the way.

 

This match could get very drab.

 

As I've said before, Lichtsteiner has the most punchable face in world football.

 

The match is still competitive and exciting.

 

I'm at work, so I'm not watching the game. I didn't bother recording because I don't really see any standout players on both teams.

 

really hope Albania scores...

 

Another chance for Sidiku. Dudes not a finisher, though.

He is pretty lucky the ref didn't award a PK to Albania , if the assistant ref behind the goal spotted that it would've been a penalty

FT. Tremendous missed opportunity for Albania. Awful finishing - they coulda/shoulda won this match. Switzerland is not the sum of their parts, a very blah performance.

We haven't really looked good since the World Cup. Very pleased with the win. I was dreading this game due to the reasons mentioned. A number of their players switched to Albania because they had no future in the Swiss setup. They were highly motivated to prove the Swiss coaching staff wrong.

Overall it was a deserved win I would say but things really went our way. From the early goal to the red card and of course fortunate moments including the Gashi chance that cost me many nerves.

 

The Xhaka derby was milder than expected, but the Albania-Switzerland game was a dramatic one. I was hooked from start to finish, really did believe the Swiss could bottle it. Kudos to Sommer who made two brilliant one on one stops to keep the points for the Swiss. Berisha has always troubled me when he plays for Lazio (him and Mauricio are accidents waiting to happen).

Albania and Romania both deserved more than the results they got, which makes that game a tantalizing one in my opnion. Winner could get through as a third placed finisher, by virtue of reasonable goal difference and 3 points in the bag.
