    Schedule Change!

On the KC boards they say the July 30th (Wednesday) game against the FIRE has been moved up to July 26th (Saturday). Did anyone here about this move, if it's true we only have two games on Wednesday this year.

    July 18 vs Dallas and
    August 20 vs. Los Angeles

I'm going to take the two-source rule into effect and act as if this is confirmed.

    Change made to Fixture List

In the past when the fire made schedule changes in was to the detriment of the fans but this year, by changing afternoon games to evening and a wednesday game into a saturday night it should actually help attendance.

Now if only they would move those wednesday and sunday road games up to saturday.

In Dallas' case it looks like there not be tickets for a road game to go to.

Would you mind explaining this comment. How am I a heretic by saying attendance will be helped by moving a wednesday game to saturday night or an afternoon game to an evening game.

i probably should have placed a winkey there, but i thought my previous post in this thread would have made it clear... nothing to give two shits about... unless you had something spicey for lunch

I'm assuming that this change was made because they finally decided that the All-Star Game would be the following weekend.

I think so, but that was decided awhile back.

I think it might have had to do with the possibility of something else that particular Saturday...but it doesn't appear it will happen. Also, it's the weekend of the Gold Cup final, if I'm not mistaken?

    I think that's a resonable assumption.

The schedulers originally kept two weekends open for the All-Star game: 26 July and 2 August, and said they would announce later which weekend it would be. They originally had 4 matches scheduled for Wednesday, 30 July and all four of them have been quietly moved to the weekend of the 26th, three to Saturday and one to Sunday. So, no doubt the all-star game will be the weekend of the 2nd of August.

This does, however, increase conflicts with the Gold Cup since, as Liam pointed out, the Gold Cup finals are supposed to be the weekend of the 26-27th.
