3 teams will advance from this group, as either Uruguay or Mexico will have a better record than Costa Rica (3rd in Group A)

On the next match day (July 12):

    Chile will finish first if
    they defeat Peru, OR
they draw with Peru and Uruguay do not defeat Mexico, OR
they draw with Peru and Uruguay defeat Mexico by exactly one goal and they score at least as many goals as Uruguay.
Peru will finish first if and only if they defeat Chile.
Uruguay will advance to the quarterfinals if and only if they do not lose to Mexico.
Mexico will advance to the quarterfinals if and only if they defeat Uruguay.

Nope.. But I think is a real shitty deal!! usually Mexico comes into the Copa America directly from the Gold Cup with 5 or 6 games under their belts which is a huge advantage. Mexico catches alot of Conmebol teams flat out cold. The conmebol said that for future Copa America there is a possibility that the "AMERICAN" ESPN network might buy the rights to the Copa America and pay more.. Ofcourse I would guess ESPN español is under the same roof.

I'm sure if the Unitedstatian espn network buys it, both Mexico and the U.S. will be invited to Copa America with the best teams of course.... fycking chuck blazer.

Or Japan, because United States doesn't really bring anything that Mexico doesn't with that criteria.

It sucked seeing Mexico this bad. It brings down the tournament and ofcourse Univision and Telefutura didn't like paying millions of dollars to see a mexican u-22. It good business for us but not the other way around. I would be friggin pissed also. Ofcourse Mexico will always be invited and its going to get to a point where its not going to be a Chuck blazer or Concacaf problem. The more players you have in Europe, the worst. If people think European clubs are going to let mexicans players play in a Tournament that's not their's than keep dreaming. European clubs are under no obligation to release their players and we all know they are assholes. They even tell FIFA to FCVCK off!!! Look what happen to Japan this year. The European clubs said NO WAY even after the disaster they experienced. A little football would have been good for them.

    "It's good business for us"...errr...

It's good business for the head money-grabbing honchos at CONMEBOL and that's it.

If there is no u22 limit, we can arrange a good B team to compete. with the few European players we can get, plus players from the Mexican league. Maybe our changes of winning the tournament would be even less, but we would be able to have a competitive team.

like david faitelson argues for months: if mexico feels status 'de pontencia' en el area concacaf.....how come they get obligated so easy, under the rule of several minow islands with vote in situations that prestige is on the line???

let them show the area and the south, that they can put a team - with excandals-, material humano hay para dos selecciones- facilmente posible
