Julie

While driving into work this morning I heard something on the new ESPN radio station here in San Diego that involves Julie Foudy. Because they do not have a lot of regular advertising, the station is always playing small pieces of interviews in place of those missing ads. I can’t remember exactly what was said, but I’ll try to keep this as close as possible to what was on the air.

It appears that she was interviewed during the recent past and the small part of it in the ‘sound-bite’ has the interviewer first mentioning some of what she is involved in right now, and then jokingly saying that the most important thing that he needs to ask her is ‘What are you getting for Mia Hamm’s wedding?’

Julie laughs, and says something about getting a big glove so Mia can cover up the engagement ring. She is asked if she has actually seen it, and she replies that she hasn’t – but that she’s heard that Mia has to be careful about keeping her knuckle from scraping on the ground…

Also, I saw Julie on Channel 4 acting as a co-host for one of the many pre-Super Bowl shows that that cable channel has been broadcasting. And she was as smooth as any of the professional television people that I've seen doing specials leading up to the game…
