Here's a nice article about Julie, Joy, Lilly and Mia when they first joined the national team.

I believe it's written by our own Braeburn. I've lost the address to her website. Does anyone out there know it?

That's cute article. Joy just wanted to survive, Mia didn't want to throw up, Lil had to call home to make sure it was ok to go to China, and Jules wanted to go home cuz she didn't have any money. LOL

These links are posted in the Fan Clubs and More forum, but in case you don't wander into that forum here are the links to parts 2 and 3.

Part two mentions the difference in soccer styles between the east coast and the west coast (mostly tackling). At least as it was in the late 80's. Anyone know if there is still that difference?

I agree. I enjoyed reading that little series; it's great to see how far those 4 have come.

uhh... i think that was an 80's thing because i still have a welt from a very... hooperish forward that missed a slide tackle on me. i got my revenge, though i had to "keep it down" for the rest of the game.

so basically i think that is out because its gotten a lot more competitive, and the coaches have been a bit more diversified now, like my coach is english, so tackling is a daily routine.
