Julian Placias at Westerlo

Still not on any squad list for the 1st team or the 2nd National Division team (4th division).

 

Injured?

 

That is the only thing that I can think of. There has been no word that I can find from the club about his status.

 

That's a bummer if he is injured. If he is not, then this is worrying...

 

I reached out to a Westerlo fan and got a response. This is the summary.

1. To begin the season, the 1st team only had 1 striker. 2 during the transfer window, and effectively closed his current chance for 1st team matches.
2. 2nd Team info is hard to come by, so no details at all.

 

Can't find any news on an injury, maybe just a knock.

 

It has now been since 23 November that he played a match for the 2nd Division VV A team.

 

Placias sighting! He played on 8 March for the 2nd Division VV A Team. He did not start, but got 19 min off the bench. This was his first minutes since 23 November.

 

Then he was out of the squad for the match on 15 March.

 

Some news that might impace Julian Placias. Westerlo has announced that they will stop with a U23 team. The Jong Westerlo or Westerlo U23 team plays in the 4th tier. They will join forces with This is the team he has played over 1000' for during the season. As an aside he played the last 28 min in the last match, and scored for the first time since 21 September. The U23 team will be folded into KFC Houtvenne, a 4th division team about 10 miles from Westerlo.

 

Update. Two goals in the last 5 matches.

 

Just over 1200 total minutes for the season. All on the reserve team. Yow had a similar path, but It looks like Palacias was derailed somewhat by a mid season injury. His contract runs through June 2027.
