Here is a link to the interview featured on The Score Footy Show today: http://portal.thescore.ca/Video/Player.aspx?vid=778 Fantastic interview, i like Julian alot as a person and player....interesting what he says about his brother (last question)
Hmmm, ya, link doesn't work anymore for whatever reason. So working from my (terrible) memory... Basically, he was asked something to do with the CSA's problems and Jonathan not playing for Canada. And Julian was saying that if the CSA wasn't such a piece of shit, it'd make Jonathan's decision a lot easier. He also said he wished he could force his brother to choose, then corrected himself saying he probably could, but he wants Jonathan to make the decision for himself, not for Julian. (obviously he didn't call the CSA a piece of shit, those are my words, but he was saying stuff about how it's a mess and such) [edit]: In other news, where the heck does the score hide their search feature? I can't find it anywhere
Dunno if you read this, probably it's been posted before. Like in the interview where Julian says he could force his brother to join him (but won't), we see they are close, and that can't be completely dismissed judging what his brother will do... (Though I would be shocked if Jonathan picked the CSA circus) At the end of Deportivo's profile of Julian: Finally, there have been a lot of comparisons between Julián de Guzmán and his brother Jonathan who still plays at Feyenoord Rotterdam and is rumoured to become part of the Dutch national team. Both are midfielders with a fine technique. But Julián is much more experienced and not as offensive as his brother. Jonathan describes Julián as “a serious man. Easy, like me. He’s my big example and I admire his fighting mentality. We call each other almost daily and his support has helped me at difficult moments. We always joke about retiring at Toronto FC together, but we'll see”.
Given the 6.5 year age difference, it would mean that either Julian would have a very long career or Jonathan would have a very short career.
