Happy for JC that he found a home. I know many of us have had our share of frustrations in recent years but the guy has been a machine his whole career.

Even when he does it in yellow, you still don't care. What's the difference

Was watching some highlights from his most recent appearance.
The manager had him playing out at Left wing.
Did not look out of place and was dangerous most of the minutes he played.
I mean, he was no Lucho Diaz or anything like that and he depended too much on his right foot but he played very well there.

Cuadrado got the start and had a great game. Set up a goal that got called back for offside, won a penalty and also had a shot cleared off the line. On top of that he played really quick, plenty of one touch passing and didn't do the shit where he delays on the ball non stop, was very efficient and makes me wish he could have played that disciplined and a team roll for us more often.

I still think he is an option for Lorenzo much to the chagrin of most posters around this message board.

If he keeps starting and playing like he did last night he will be called.

Eh he played as a wing back and has always done the job for club then played different for us plus the issues that were apparent with James. I wouldn't risk it personally, but maybe if we get some injuries and want to shift our formation a bit which wouldn't be the worst, but we ask alot of defending and running from our fullbacks and play only a back 4, not sure his skillset translates and he isn't getting any younger. We need to be getting younger guys who can help in 26 and beyond in the squad, limit the old guard unless desperate.

It is an interesting situation. We do need to move on and play younger guys.
That said, he still has his value (if he plays like he did last night) and he bleeds Colombian Yellow. He was our main focal point at midfield before James started to really step up and play out of his mind.
I mentioned an article months ago that Cuadrado made it seem like if he is playing regularly he will be called up by Lorenzo. Whether or not that is true or things have changed since then remains to be seen but I will keep an open mind to it.

Yes he was our main midfielder when we were terrible and he was pretty prickly to James. Our older guys need to be good, understand their role to help the team or/and they need to be big positives in the locker room there is a big long term risk for 2/3 with Cuadrado and imo its not worth it considering he always played on his terms for us and it didn't work a ton of the time.

Can't have too many chefs in the kitchen and Cuadrado never wanted to accept being a role player and not a main focal point for Colombia, and I think it was clear that was toxic and also didn't work, club Cuadrado would have been great but we didn't see it for a long time.

Atalanta were impotent with C4 with tons of possession yesterday... A lot like our NT when he plays - corners that don't beat the first man, a lot of playing looking for fouls.

In general yesterday was a catastrophe for Atalanta (losing 3-1 to an inferior team at home in an elimination game!) and worst part was how Gasperini (a genius, don't get me wrong) took the loss and blamed his best player (Mola Lookman) for missing a pen. (Lookman should have started but scored within 45 seconds of coming in as a sub and then missed a pen). Brutal look for one of football's great minds.
