Comparing him to our best players in history is not what we should be doing.

The way I see it is:
    1) Is he a good prospect?
(I think he is a very good prospect.)
    2) Does he have attributes that differentiate from other players in the player pool?
(Yes, skill wise, physically and mentally in my opinion. He also can play the left and right and supporting striker.)
    3) Can he contribute on a roster for WCQing and Copa America?
    (I think he can. )

He can play like Aristizabal or Valenciano for all I care (and that would be pretty darn good if the does play like those guys.).
Just help the National Team win and continue to grow.

Every time I watch him play he looks quite average. I could be wrong though. Just like I don't understand people that don't see the talent of Morelos. I think those people judge him by a few NT games.

I hope Cucho proves me wrong - maybe I havent seen enough games from him - but he isnt very high on my top Colombian prospects list.

    That is fair.
But let's keep in mind every time you see him play he is playing against La Liga competition.

Every time you see Morelos play it may be against really bad Scottish Competition outside of a few Europa League matches ( in which he has looked very good) but even those team's defenses are not that impressive.

not just saying he isn’t the best prospect ever.

arguably James or Roda were in a league of their own before 20. Sanchez and Mina but defenders don’t really get love. Ospina starting at Nacional at his age was crazy impressive.

again I hope Cucho and every 14 year old currently in Colombia become better than James and Falcao as that can only help our NT but think I was calling for a 17 year old James to be on the Nt :). The older posters wanted to wait because of Montano

No I actually think you're right, he has looked average since his time with the youth team and his injury. I still think he's good and needs time, but Morelos is a lot better and is much more suited for the false 9 position. I could have been wrong, or it could be that the injuries have really hampered him but its clear that at this point he's not anything too special.

in 2005 falcao with 19 before injury he scored double i his debut (as starter) againt independiente. Then he scored in every match for 7 matches ....until the injure agisnt san lorenzo where he scored double too..i wanted to see cucho with something similar at that age....

Actually his last season with river wasnt good.

I was more impressed with pino in monaco in 2007 than with cucho in mallorca.

Good thing: he is young and could improve.....but he isnt more than a young prospect...

Cucho is saving all of his goals for the Senior National Team.
He is on pace to break Falcao's record in just 18 games.

could make the argument that his team isn't very good but even in a better team, I would doubt he'd even play tbh. I'm hoping his mentality is improving at Mallorca more than anything. We need a change asap if we expect different results with colombia

Just something about this kid that seems special.
As I said before he is not the biggest or the fastest but he plays without fear.
If he can improve his touches and ball control a bit maybe I could see him in a trident with Duvan and Muriel.
But even I am not there yet. I just want to see him get called into training by Queiroz and see where it goes from there.

His team just went down a goal though.
They need to find a way to get some points here.

9 goals in the Spanish first division and 25 goals in Spain in total.
    All before 22 years old.

    Not bad.

For a Colombian at 21 in Spain it is pretty good.

Liked what i saw from him after the hiatus.

Look forward to his future and hope he can continue to grow.

And no, 9 goals over 2 seasons is not impressive. Hopefully he can score double digits in 1 season next year

No one said it was impressive.
Just that it was not bad for a Colombian at his age to score that and 25 goals in total in Spain.
    Context is key.

Fati is at Barca with 10 billion times better service with absolute monsters up top that take the defenders with them that can leave him unmarked

drop Cucho there and his numbers would be more impressive
