And away we go with something relatively relevant... New Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has said manager Phil Brown will be in charge for Sunday's game against Stoke.
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] Brown is pretty talented in this regard ... he doesn't need much rope.
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] Friedel, that's a really boring thread title -- you can do better!
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] Too much time in France has left me punless in English. But check out these cool capri pants I just bought.... Is that a Twitter joke? If so, I approve.
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] Manpris? I KNEW IT! We need to get a YA forum intervention going, toot sweet. Well, it's twitter related. Let's just call it twitterpated.
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] Back to the situation at hand- I'm not at all displeased with Jozy's situation and playing time (as long as he gets to the games on time). 2nd half sub is a good role for him right now and I think he's learning a lot about the game. He can be a bit wasteful of chances in front of the goal and I think the compressed playing time is sharpening his mental focus. I'm also pleased to hear about all the extra time he's spending on the practice field. While I would like him to become a starter by January, I think he's playing well and getting excellent experience for a 19-year-old striker at this point.
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] Pretty much agreed, but for the fact that Hull's midfield starves its forwards. He'd learn more with more touches (stating the obvious, I realize).
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] If I could only work "greve" into it...but I'll leave that for Sochaux.
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] How dare you be reasonable! They might need to park the bus next game. Yeah, it is Stoke, but Geo is out. It is going to be ugly. I'm not stoked.
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] True (for obvious reasons), but I'd add that there are a number of teams in a number of leagues that have the same problem as Hull. Also, the U.S. will probably find themselves in a similar situation at some point in the World Cup. It's something that IS valuable for Jozy to learn: How to be productive when you don't get many touches.
Re: Jozy on loan at Hull, Part IV [R] This is a point that, I think, often goes underemphasized. As much as we'd like for Jozy to be surrounded by Big Four-level talent, he is where he is now and he's going to have to find a way to prove himself (to the manager, to other Prem clubs, to Villarreal, etc.) when he's starved for service. And there's nothing wrong with that; such is life for a young and still unproven striker. And delicious.
