I thought I'd start a new thread for Josh now that he's moved to KSC. I'm not sure if I'm going to be watching that many of the matches but I'll try to update things when I can.

First match was today in Karlsruhe, vs Nürnberg, and it ended very badly for Nürnberg with a 2-0 win to KSC. I was a little surprised, but obviously pleased, to see Josh starting.

He started quite slowly (as did his whole team), but in the second half he was more involved in the game.

I still believe that he's lacking a bit of confidence when it comes to decision making and taking shots, but really by the 60th minute I was thinking that he was doing an OK job for his first match, if not really spectacular.

He then assisted with KSC's first goal - nothing amazing but a good decision and a clean pass, and that seemed to give him some confidence.

Later he had a disastrous miss with a clear 1 on 1 against the keeper which he screwed up completely - really just by not taking the shot when he should have.

But then shortly after, he was in the right place in the box to receive an angled cross which he slotted into goal for only his second goal of the season! And against his old team!

So really you couldn't have asked for a better debut at your new team, assisted with one goal and scored the other!

They interviewed Josh after the game and he looked rather pleased with himself, unsurprisingly :) So, nice for KSC but what a slap in the face for 1.FCN :(

Great stuff! Hopefully there is a replay of the match on Setanta today sometime. Thanks ozzage.

Kennedy you rock! What a dream debut! So many of us, including he, were speculating, 'wouldn't it be great if he scored against his old club?' Well he has, woohoo!

There's no better message to send to his former manager at Nurnberg :) .

What's the go with Setanta? Can you watch all the Bundesliga matches in Oz now? Live/repeats?

Setanta is just on channel you can get as an add on with Foxtel or Austar. It has a few Bundesliga, Serie A, Portuguese Liga & SPL matches every weekend. Then usually has highlights & replays during the week. It also has matches from South America, usually during the week.

Thats good, because the last thing we need is for him to piss off his new club by getting injured after only one game for them, and not get any game time in the future.

We need all our players getting games and match fitness!

He's listed by Kicker (German football mag/website) as starting today for KSC and I expect they must be right after last week's match and then his performance on Wednesday. Let's hope his confidence is high and he kicks some arse vs Hannover.

I'm screwed now I can't watch the Nürnberg match and the KSC match at the same time! It's easier if all the Aussies play in one team :)

    Well Kennedy scored again!!

Josh scored the first in a 2-2 draw, with his head naturally.

He also missed a complete sitter in front of an empty goal - literally missed the ball. Soon after that he was substituted :p The commentator was making a big deal out of his long flight back from Australia etc so I think he'll be excused for that one.

Wasn't a bad display overall, except when he had to use his feet... and I still get this nagging feeling that he's afraid to get stuck in sometimes. He's better than he was when he first came back from his injury, and I hope that more real match time will improve it further, before we need him again :)

Great news. So that's 2 goals already for Karlsruhe? hehe That's more than what he gained, with limited match time, with Nurnberg this season :) .

Hopefully he can keep this form up, of a goal a game. Maybe he can reach double figures by season's end and finally prove he's worthy of being a starting striker in the Bundesliga (I think there are still doubts whether he's good enough, lingering from Nurnberg?)

    Christ he scored again today!!

I missed the match unfortunately but he headed in the equaliser to make it 2-2 vs Bayer Leverkusen.

Well done Josh - 3 from 3 for KSC! That's bloody amazing considering his earlier performances.

He played most of the match yesterday in Karlsruhe's 0-2 loss to Stuttgart. Unfortunately he obviously didn't continue his scoring run with KSC :(

KSC dominated possession in most of the match but couldn't do anything with it. Kennedy had a remarkably low amount of ball contact though - I only remember him getting a handful of touches. Not much service.

Well, Jesus saves again... another goal making it 4 goals in 5 matches for Karlsruhe! How must Nürnberg be feeling...?

Josh scored in the 73rd minute to give KSC the lead after they were level at 1-1. My very rough translation from the KSC match report:

"Joshua Kennedy, after twice wasting promising positions (61 and 67 min) redeemed himself in front of the nearly 28,000 fans. From a skillful pass from Iashvili he weaved through three defenders before placing the ball, ice-cold, from 18m out into the lower left corner of the goal"

Sound good to me :) As I've still never seen him kick the ball towards the goal without screwing up, I presume it was from a header but I don't know for sure.

KSC is now 5th which places them in UEFA Cup territory. Not bad for a team who was only promoted out of the 2nd league this season, and they can definitely thank Josh at least partly for their latest run! He'll be building a name for himself very fast if he keeps this up! Well done Josh!

Apparently the goal he scored wasn't a header!! ;)
