According to FIFA rules, he needs to live 5 years in his new country before he's eligible to play for them. That would mean the middle of 2024.

Terrible result for Haifa as they drew 1-1. They gave up the away goal and will now need to win in Kazakhstan.

Good one. Reminds me of my favourite Radio Yerevan joke from the Soviet era. The usual format is a listener writes in with a political or social question and Radio Yerevan gives an answer that can be absurd, cruel or even sinister. Sometimes it's all three. This one goes: Radio Yerevan: Comrades, we have a call from a listener in X. Comrade, please proceed. Listener: Comrades, our glorious comrade Josef Vissarionovich Stalin has just published his masterful thesis concerning zebras and, to my shame, I must confess that there is one part of his thesis that is unclear to me. Is the zebra white stripes on black, or black stripes on white? Radio Yerevan: Comrade, the answer to your question is yes.

Started and kept a clean sheet in Maccabi Haifa's UEFA Conference League group stage opener today, a scoreless draw against Feyenoord.
FWIW it finished 1-0 for Haifa. They're very much the minnows in this group - their budget probably isn't even half of Slavia's, let alone Union Berlin or Feyenoord - so that's a very good result for them. It moves them up to 2nd place, a point ahead of Slavia and Union and 2 points behind Feyenoord..
