Gabriele Marcotti lays out here why Jose may have a really big task on his hands. Though, I'm sure it's nothing "The Special One" can't handle.
Considering his experiences with Porto, Jose should be up to speed as to "how it's done in Italy" very quickly.
Jose going to inter is actually good news for us. He'll clear out a couple players, forwards especially... I'd love for us to pick up Cruz on a cheap cheap deal or David Suazo for around 10M.
To be honest I am a little outraged that Porto were kicked out, given that no such action was taken on Milan for what was to the best of my knowledge the exact same thing back in 05/06, only to a larger extent.
http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-italymourinho&prov=reuters&type=lgns ROME, Jan 2 (Reuters) - Nemanja Vidic should be given at least a two-match ban for his red card in the Club World Cup final and miss Manchester United’s Champions League ties against Inter Milan, the Serie A club’s coach Jose Mourinho said. The Serbia defender was sent off for elbowing striker Claudio Bieler in the face in United’s 1-0 win over Liga de Quito and will serve his punishment in European competition with UEFA yet to decide the length of any ban. Mourinho also expressed surprise that England forward Wayne Rooney had been cleared of allegedly stamping on midfielder Kasper Risgard during United’s 2-2 draw with AaB Aalborg last month. “I was amazed that Rooney was not banned,” the Portuguese coach told Friday’s La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I would be amazed if Vidic did not get at least two matches, which could be too little for a gesture like that in a match seen by the whole world.”
Gee, I didn't realize that the length of a ban was related to how many people were watching the game...
Only in the CL. UEFA has to decide on the Vidic case iirc and FIFA would be expected to plead leniency given that the European club is the biggest draw of the CWC.
It really shows how far Vidic has come when Mourinho goes public moaning about the length of his ban.
