Been to Lemon Tree many times.....really good food! They have live Salsa bands on some nights too. Really one of my favorite places to eat. Food is great and the atmosphere is too. Parking is a pain though.

Are we getting the tryouts, or are we trying out your players in Galvez?

    Yeah, it's pretty nice.

Their ceviche is crappy, though. Gotta go to El Rancho on West Mt. Houston for that. It's not nearly as nice but their ceviche is pretty top notch. As is the rest of their food, really.

I don't know much about the tryouts except that a kid from Houston is trying out. He has tons of potential but has had his soccer growth stunted here in the US. A good coach could definitely do well with him. I have reffed him a few times. Nice kid, good size, nice touch, nice speed and does well heading the ball. From what I understand there may be a bit of a language barrier though. He understands and speaks minimal Spanish. But, that can be worked on. I have seen him play forward and attacking mid here in Houston. Played for our MLS academy and appeared to be on the rise until a knee surgery slowed, but I know he played after that so it must have healed well. I think he will do well, but I don't really know too much about Peruvian soccer. Seen a few games on TV, but not enough to be able to gouge his potential success.

The other kid is from somewhere near Lima. The two have some kind of connection but not sure what that is. He is supposedly much smaller but with excellent ball skills and knowledge of the game. This kid is supposed to be a diamond in the rough. I believe he is a central mid. This is all second hand knowledge.

If I hear anymore I will let you know. Do any of you get out to the practices? Maybe someone there could let me know how the boys are doing.

OH they are trying out in Chimbote so I assumed this was the right team. IF not, sorry, but hey at least we sparked some interest!

Haha...and from someone in Texas no less! The first kid is half Peruvian. Not sure if the mom is from US or not, but I think she is. He was also coached by a Peruvian coach here in Houston....Mirko Castillo.

Well, our boy must be doing well. He is being sent to Lima for trials. The coach recommended it as this team appears to be on the road to relegation. Has been practicing with Galvez for a couple of weeks and apparently doing well.

The other trialist is probably not coming in as well due to the fact that the team is in last or next to last place and he is trying out somewhere else. Maybe Lima but not sure since that is where he is from. Seems he would have already been seen or tried if Lima.
