Nothing special in his start today. Pretty poor, honestly. Taken out at minute 58.

A lot of his passes were short, he took too long recieving most balls, either losing it or getting fouled. Probably nerves.

What bothered me is his conditioning. Kid used to be very pacey on the wings. He walked the pitch most of the match and had NO burst when he got the ball. I can understand why Gallardo hasn't been using him.

    No wasnt so bad...

Won a lot of rebounds too....made two key passes that mean danger to tigre....

    Yeah hasnt rythm and dynamic....

The fact that he havent been used of gallardo isnt because "what he display today".....that is ignoring all circustances

No need to destroy all our players ...

No, actually, this is exactly why Gallardo hasn't played him. He's said regularly that Carrascal needs to adapt to Argentina physically and mentally. That was pretty apparent today, and who knows if he'd have ever played at all this season if it weren't for injuries.

Don't give me this nonsense about "destroying all our players" when half the posts on this thread are from me supporting the kid and informing others about his career in a league nobody follows.

Carrascal is one of the 18 players called-up for the return leg of our Round of 16 Copa de la Superliga match-up vs. Aldosivi, meaning that at the very minimum he'll be on the bench on Friday.

Gallardo will have a chat with Carrascal during the pre-season, but there is a serious possibility of the Colombian's loan being terminated early in June.

    Solid.

I hope that he continues to play well and continues to earn Gallardo's trust.

He was River's focal point for the first 5 minutes of the match, an then cooled down a bit.

Great duel between him and Orejuela.

He's had some poor free kicks and looked a little passive, but overall he's doing damn well for his first start.

He made several mistakes and obviously still has to grow, but overall Carrascal’s display today left a very good taste. He has very good ball control and sets up some great passes. Looking forward to seeing him gain more regular playing time from now on.

Looked pretty good everything considered. Did not look intimidated in a big game on the road.

Borre on the other hand... man, what a frustrating player.

Any given day he can be either man of the match or the worst player on the pitch. No in between. It seems impossible to get consistency from him

I mentioned in his thread that he did have some nice passes. Also made the clinching penalty which is something I thought he would miss.
But yes, just does not know how to shoot on goal consistently.

Carrascal has a lot of talent and does stuff that can completely change a game, his potential is pretty high imo and if he works hard I wouldn't be surprised to see this guy go far. Hopefully he can cement his spot at River, we've already seen Borre and Quintero really make the most of their talent under this manager and it looks like Carrascal is being given the same path that vaulted Quintero into his best period as a player.

I trust in gallardo, the guy is so good coach. he doesnt care age and names, he just use the moment and talent of the player.

The big difference with boca mediocre coaches.

Maybe he can attarct one day to coach our nt.........he have had good moments with our players

Started again today, but got subbed out at the half.

Looked very sloppy. Lots of ugly fouls, and he probably could've been red carded. His dribbles were all a split second too late. But his sub, De la Criz, missed a penalty, so that's good.

    Against Cruzeiro:

I didn't see him today but I saw him vs. Cruzeiro and he was sooo bad. Almost every dribble he tried didn't go well, too many shots went very far from the target. I personally think that this kid is average minus, don't understand what he is doing in River. But than again, I didn't understood what Inter found in Tyson Rivas or Boca in Breynner Bonilla so...

with cruzeiro he was elected as one of the best of the match.,,even a trasmision of fox elected ad mvp

maybe he need to be more accurate with his dribles...but he has a lot of personality and create dangerous.
