I don't think Morris and Lowe mixed well. They often made the same run & Morris deferred giving up seniority. It's also just his mentality. He should be your option up top w/ the other guy dropping deep. Morris was getting in behind while Lowe was getting beat to balls. I think Jordan probably meshes better w/ Ayew or Whitaker. Swansea just outright didn't see Morris on plenty of runs in behind. Though he could be instructed, when there's little space left, to just check then, like Whitaker did for Swans' lone goal. Jordan can be a little single-minded.
I thought Morris looked pretty good. He didn't look fully fit, but he made a couple smart plays that resulted in about as close to dangerous attacks as Swansea had in the first 60 minutes. He had the one play on a long diagonal when he deferred to Lowe, who was in a better position but isn't anywhere near as fast or quick. The German announcers kept noting that Morris is richtig stark, richtig schnell, and he did look like that. Overall, i thought it was tough to take much out of this outing because City makes everyone look like beginners out of their depth. They're so fast across the field. They held the ball for minutes at a time. When he was on the ball, Morris was able to hold his space really well, which was impressive. He twice got to the touchline to put in crosses, and on one of those looked like he was just about to outpace Walker, though Walker pushed him to the line, away from goal. Cooper had them playing seven behind the ball with a triangle of attackers floating about just behind the attack. Dhanda was holding on to the ball a bit too long, IMO, and everywhere, City were blocking passes at the source. How many times did Swansea fail to get outlet passes beyond a yard before they were knocked out of the air and out of bounds? The approach was probably fine, they were so outmatched. I was thinking the triangle was order to launch quick counters and they didn't really do this. They way they looked, I would have preferred Morris alone up top. That said, after the subs Swansea had a bit more energy and looked quite good. I thought Arriola was impressive in a cameo,

It sounds like Swansea switched formations when Morris came on, with Morris wide on one side, and eventually Arriola wide on the other, in a front 3. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...ttingham-forest-championship-results-19850303 Jordan Morris replaced Kyle Naughton for the final quarter of the game after the defender took a knock to the face, and that alteration saw a change in shape for the hosts as Ayew operated centrally, with Morris and Lowe moving to the wide positions. . . . Paul Arriola replaced Lowe for the final stages.
Not too much: #USMNT Jordan Morris went 23 minutes for Swansea. He had 1 unsuccessful dribble, 82% passing, 1 long ball, and won 2/5 duels— Mr. Silence Dogood (@POTP_Silence) February 17, 2021
And apparently he’s hurt bad. Get well soon, Jordan Morris. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/0aHuMYUACJ— USMNT Only (@usmntonly) February 20, 2021
We hope Jordan Morris has a speedy recovery. #Swans #USMNT pic.twitter.com/pVQZ1fTz8N— Swansea Beat 🦢 (@swanseabeat) February 20, 2021 always has to be our players doesn't it
It's especially unfortunate because you could see with the progression of minutes Morris had been receiving in league games (entered in the 83rd minute in his first game, 75th minute in his second game, 67th minute in his third game, and 45th minute today), Swansea were easing Morris into a starting role, probably by their next game.
