If you were wondering of what was going to happen with Walker... well here are the news: He is going to stay in Chile.

After the injuries of 2 goalkeepers of Colo-Colo, Walker is about to sign up for Colo-Colo in the next hours.

He is on time to be signed on the current local Tournament and also for Copa Libertadores.

OMG! The team in Chile that everyone loves to hate.
Oh well. At least it's a "high profile" team.

Wonder if he'll be able to buy his old SUV back? Not to mention, the house in the hills. (Is Colo a Santiago team as well?)

Yesterday Walker gave an interview, he mentioned how glad he was about signing for Colo-Colo (Chilean best soccer team, btw) and what a great relieve it was to have a team (I guess it was very frustating for him not being able to sign for a MLS team).

He arrived to Santiago 2 days ago carrying nothing but a backpack. He said "I have no apartment, no car and my belongings are all in a container somewhere in the Pacific still on their way to the US."

Who is everyone? At least 50% of those who follow soccer are Colo-Colo fans, it's one of the few teams that has a huge crowd supporting them, not matter where in Chile they play!

Does walker have a realistic chance of being the first choice keeper? BTW is he really that good or does the Chilean press hype him up? I do know his wage demands are much higher than MLS was willing to shell out.

50% is a bit much for the Colo Colinas. If it were 50% , then those 50% need therapy.

Walker was holding out for something just like this. He wasn't going to sign for peanuts in the States. He shipped all his stuff to the US to move his wife and son close to family while they were waiting for things to come through with some Scandinavian teams. However, this popped up and was perfect for three months so he'll be a free agent again in June.

Colo Colo brought him in to be starting keeper. He is very good and has proven himself time and time again with his other team, Catolica. This should be a good bridge for him to get into Mexico or Europe now... Good luck Jonny!

Yesterday's poll on TV, asking people on the streets if they liked Walker. Answers:

1 person - Knew who he was and liked him
2 people - Knew who he was and disliked him
8 people - Didn't know him, thought it was the whisky
4 people - Didn't know him, thought he was a pop star
    3 people - Didn't know him

Yes, in fact Colo-Colo hired him because 2 of their goalkeepers were injured (1st choice and 2nd choice). The third goalkeepers is not very trustable, so they hired Walker.

Now, the funny thing is that yesterday, Colo-Colo played with the third choice -Loyola- and not Walker and he did a wonderful job! So now nobody knows for real!

Did you watch the same game? If so, this might explain the difference between US and Chilean goalkeeping standards. The Colo Colo goalie made a couple of good reaction saves; however at the end of the game he came out for a long high ball into the box and whiffed completely, leaving the goal at Medellin's mercy. He was saved when the ball hit the Medellin forward in the shoulder and not the head for a harmless goalkick. But it was really a high school play.

Now, you've got to keep in mind that he is usually Colo-Colo's 3rd choice = crappy goalkeeper. Considering this, he made a good job.

Put like that, I agree. But if you are talking in the context of being a national team caliber goalie, or even a first team top club goalie, not so much.

I know, but that's a game that a bad goalie could have ruined and he didn't, I bet he'll get a chance more often from now on... at least until Lobos is fully recovered.
