Jonny Walker has made three great saves for Colo Colo in the first 15 minutes of play. Sounds like a very exciting game. Ivan Zamorano is also starting for Colo Colo and making things interesting.

Walker has had extremely busy first half with a number of extraordinary saves! La U has dominated the first half however just before half one of their players red carded. Score @ half 0-0.

Game finished in 0-0 tie. Walker made about 8 great saves and was named "Man of the Match" for the Superclassico.

Too bad San Jose didn't pick this guy up... Sounds like Walker played like a champ today. Looking forward to seeing him play against Boca Juniors in a few weeks.

He's only signed with Colo Colo through June so he can be a free agent again when the Mexican season starts in hopes to make the jump there. Until then, he'll see some great matches with Colo Colo and get some good experience, like yesterday.

I've always wondered what TV channel do you watch. I would really like to know -not saying that Walker didn't play OK, but from that point to the "Man of the Match" is a little too much!.

In a 0-0 match, who else should get it? The forwards?

No, but it was a fun game to watch. He might have been solid, but chicarica's comments on Walker are always as if he was a super star here in Chile and people barely know him!

He had a lot of work yesterday, but I don't think the plays were tough at all!

    From today's El Mercurio ...
"Tras la marca de los 15', la "U" se metió en el partido e impulsó llegadas que siempre encontraron respuesta en un sólido Jonathan Walker, el portero estadounidense que se convirtió en figura con inmensas atajadas durante la primera fracción."

This is the first time I've looked up a Chilean press report on him, but it's certainly good to be credited with "huge saves" (inmensas atajadas).

bio... I don't know where you get your info, but Walker is VERY well known in Chile and VERY well liked. This game was not televised because agreements have still not been reached between teams and tv stations, but two Chilean websites covered the match with notes live (www.terra.cl/deportes and www.coopertiva.cl). BOTH sites praised Walker and named him figura as well as every newspaper on MOnday - like Bieneke pointed out....

Also, TVN, a news channel in Chile, also televised in the States with DISH satellite has the weekly roundup on Sunday nights and I saw the game highlights and Walker had some amazing saves.

"La figura" in Spanish is the player of the game/man of the match.

I am a big fan of Jonny, yes, and have been following him for a while. But I never make up anything and definitely give him the credit he deserves when he plays a great game like on Sunday.

I have proved every point you've had a problem with Bio, so give me a break...

To begin with... don't take it personal, by no means I'm attacking you chicarica. All I'm saying here is how we make different reading of what we see/read/listen. My brother is a huge soccer fan; therefore, he watchs soccer news on every single channel - and I'm forced, too.

All the praise I heard was "buen trabajo de Walker en la portería" (Walker's good job at the goal). Sure he solid -and I've been saying this since my first post here- but because of that you can't treat him as a super star (this is my personal opinion).

If you watched Megavision (which I think has the best soccer news) you might remember the day when Walker signed up for Colo-Colo. They went out and asked the people about what they thought about Walker (mainly Colo-Colo fans and Catolica's fans) and they barely knew him!

Most of my day I'm surrounded by young adults U30 and I've asked about him and all I get -if they know whom I talking about- is "hum... he is fair".

This is today's newspaper (El Mercurio):

If this is not making fun of him... I don't know what it is.

BTW - Buzz was clearly not making fun of Jonny Walker - he was just being honest about how brief his time in Dallas was and to what degree he can say "Ex-Burn player" about him.

    See for yourself:

Nope, 'cause I watched the game and I don't believe tha is correct. The game was fun and I don't believe Walker played better than any of the rest -specially U de Chile players.

But you know what... if what you want to hear is that Walker is the king of the World... OK

Walker is the best goalkeeper in the history of soccer, every team should make their best efford and try to hire him for a lifetime, he is the one and only soccer star!
I can't wait to see him play at the WC 2006!

Who the heck is saying he is king of the world? Chicarica said he made great saves and the articles support that statement.

You said that saying he was man of the match is "too much" and yet newspapers appear to disagree. Were you right or wrong about whether he was named man of the match?

Are you sure you don't carry some bias yourself?

Not taking about Buzz intentions, talking about the newspaper's intentions.

Anyone have any idea what type of salary he is/was making? Or what his salary demands to MLS were?

"Estuvo en Dallas, pero no le alcanzó el tiempo ni para tomarse una taza de café"

He was in Dallas, but he didn't even have time to have a cup of coffee.

It really depends on what context you think this quote belongs with. Earlier in the article, it mentioned how years ago he was a back-up with the Burn. If you take that into context, sure, he wasn't good enough then. However, what does that have to do with Johnny Walker v2003? Little, if anything at all. I could see casual fans making the connection that he wasn't very good from that, but that wouldn't be a very well thought out opinion, either.

If the guy gets named man of the match with one of the top teams in Chile, I sure as hell wouldn't say he's chopped liver. Might not be on Friedel and Keller's level, but then again how many non-EU goalkeepers gain starting jobs in Europe? I think that says more about Friedel and Keller and less about Walker....

Looks like Walker is in talk with the Rochester Rhinos. Could be a huge gain for Rochester.

Article is total rumor. Walker is looking towards Mexico and Europe for next contract -- not A League...
