Anywho, they good. We bad. Keep it respectable, lads.
Be nice to see Gomes make an appearance, but I have my doubts. The 6pm kickoff coupled with last weekend’s time shift is especially disadvantaging to players affected by Ramadan. Sunset on Saturday isn’t until 7:37pm.
It sounds ridiculous but ISTM that this is a crucial game in some ways. If they lose this one they'll be 0-2-2. A real buzz killer for the players, the coaches and the fans. New guy at the helm or not, new players almost ready, early in the season, all that rot; the Columbus Crew does not go 0-2-2. But 1-1-2 would be a vast difference. Enough points, maybe not setting the world on fire but a respectable showing on a par with local expectations. Im not suggesting that the season would.be over but they really need to win this one. If they can beat a red hot Nashville, the season takes on a whole different look.
Nashville plays in the CCC vs Miami tonight and next week. Hoping they rotate. Only problem with that is theyll probably bunker
Yeah, the fact that Nashville has a bigger game midweek than this one has given me slightly more hope. They’re much much better than this Crew team, but if they rotate (heavily), and there’s contributions from the new guys (Brianna just tweeted that they’ll both be available per Rydström), then there’s a decent shot. I know he was very quiet/bad in the front 3 last week, but I’d keep Taha up there. Chicagos big center backs (who I think are very good) bossed all our forwards, but maybe Nashvilles backups fare worse? Unless Nariman has come in and blown everyone away and needs to start immediately, Taha is the best option up there between him/Picard/Gazdag, he showed that clearly at the end of the year last year. I would give him more than 1 game at that position before moving on and declaring it a lost cause.
#Crew96 head coach Henrick Rydström compares Wilfried Nancy to a "nice looking ex" for your significant other. He said fans and media are always looking at the very successful coach who came before and compare to him. What a metaphor!— Patrick Murphy (@_Pat_Murphy) March 11, 2026 Rydström now uses the metaphor of needing to marinate the meat (the opponent) and not playing forward too fast. He said on Saturday against the Fire, "the meat was raw." He said #Crew96 crossed the ball too much against Chicago.— Patrick Murphy (@_Pat_Murphy) March 11, 2026
First instinct is definitely "DOOM!", but the CCC thing is giving me pause. I can't decide... Heck, Coyote Ugly it is!
Why didn't anyone tell me about this?! NEW IN-STADIUM HYPE VIDEO: How can we possibly lose if we're so damn hyped!
Philly got new lights installed. Saw a video, pretty cool light show for their pregame presentation (fka hype) video.
