25 starts for Bornstein this season in Israeli league. Netanya finish in fourth place, just barely missing out on the Europa League. Out of contract this summer, I wonder if he'll hang up his boots, or try to play another year in Israel. Or perhaps a return to MLS is in the cards? Would also be interesting to see if Bornstein pursues a coaching career as an assistant somewhere (maybe at LAFC under Bradley?). He certainly has the experience to do so.
Newest info on Transfermarkt says Bornstein's contract at Netanya now goes to Summer 2020, so looks like they resigned him for a year. https://www.transfermarkt.us/jonathan-bornstein/profil/spieler/39454
Bornstein was a near-constant brain fart for the US. I know that there was at least one game that he surprised me, but we're not talking Tim "good for one brain fart per game" Ream--we're talking Jonathan "good for a handful of brain farts per game" Bornstein. Plus, he'll be 35 in November.
Saving grace is that he had a very solid 2010 World Cup with no real mistakes. Played great when it counted.
i was not a fan of his under bob bradley...BUT when he was playing in Liga MX I caught a few of his games and he looked like a different player..... players do get better over time. Haven't watched him in Israel but he's def not the same player he was 10 years ago.....
That's surely what I remember positive from him. The rest, meh, get him off the field was always what I remember thinking.

This is a great move for Johnny B. Allows him to end his career in MLS, hopefully showing us that he still can ball along the way. Too bad the Fire have little hope of making the playoffs.
Still a hero in Honduras: @JonnyBornstein gracias mañana 10 años de ese gol pic.twitter.com/bljrZ2I55i— FUERA CORRUPTOS FUERA (@luque_danilo) October 13, 2019

Moving to Honduras?: I'm hearing that this is going to happen. Jonathan Bornstein, the man whose goal for the U.S. vs. Costa Rica that sent Honduras to the 2010 World Cup, is going to play for Honduran club Vida. The 38-year-old remains wildly popular in Honduras. https://t.co/kV1K1wG3Y9— Arch Bell (@ArchBell) January 11, 2023
