Highlights from the game, including his first goal. He has 11 goals so far this season, 5th in the league in scoring.
GOAL FOR TOWN (61) JP Pittman!— Harrogate Town AFC (@HarrogateTown) December 10, 2016 Pittman's penalty is kept out but the striker is first to react and bundle into the net! 3-2!— Harrogate Town AFC (@HarrogateTown) December 10, 2016
I think he had a few assists in this game at least that is how it sounds from the article. http://www.harrogatetownafc.com/news/2522-harrogate-town-6-3-alfreton-town Also Harrogate have announced that they will move to full-time status next season. http://www.harrogatetownafc.com/news/2519-town-to-move-to-full-time-from-17-18
He will be leaving the club when his contract expires this summer. http://www.harrogatetownafc.com/news/2593-squad-begins-to-take-shape-for-2017-18 He didn't play much the 2nd half of the season. I'm not sure if this was simply squad selection or if he was injured. I couldn't find much, if any, info about injuries this season. He will be 31 this year so he may be getting closer to hanging up his boots. When he does retire it looks like he will go into coaching. He has been coaching the Harrogate College team. I read an interview where he said he's been studying for his UEFA B license as well.
Jon-Paul has signed with Torquay (Joining YA Keeper Brendan Moore) http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40267504
Snip: United player-manager Kevin Nicholson said he is pleased to add more pace to his squad. He said: "JP is one of the fastest players I have ever played against and he will give us some real thrust going forward. I won't be putting myself in his group for any of the sprint drills in training. "His physical attributes are a nightmare for defenders and he has a proven goal record. I'm looking forward to trying to develop him even more and make sure that, starting from the front, we don't allow any team in this league to feel comfortable." Jon-Paul has been placed on Torquay's transfer list along with two other players, who are also under contract, as Torquay are relegated from England's National League https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/43950351
Perhaps of interest to Exeter City: Torquay United American-born striker Jon-Paul Pittman is another name also being mentioned as a possible City target. https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/former-plymouth-argyle-striker-linked-1667950
Season long loan to Truro City who are actually ground sharing with Torquay. http://www.trurocityfc.net/news/signing-pittman-arrives-on-season-long-loan-2330865.html
Two goals in seven starts for Pittman at Truro City thus far. I remember when this kid was in the national team conversation back in 2009 at age 23 when he was ripping up League One. Shame he never was able to move up further. https://us.soccerway.com/players/jon-paul-pittman/35968/
Now moving into coaching (this story is from November): After enjoying a playing career that included Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, Jon-Paul Pittman was keen to move into coaching and having worked hard to earn a place on the Premier League, the EFL and the PFA Charity’s new Professional Player-to-Coach Scheme, the 34-year-old is taking the first step to realising his ambition at Exeter City. https://www.efl.com/news/2020/november/jon-paul-pittman--professional-player-to-coach-scheme-story/
An update for old times' sake. Now coaching Forest Green Rovers U18s https://www.fgr.co.uk/news/two-new-appointments-in-rovers-academy
He was just hired as an assistant with Brentford's U18's alongside head coach Lydia Bedford (who was coaching in Women's Super League) after they started up their academy again. https://www.brentfordfc.com/en/news/article/club-news-lydia-bedford-appointed-u18-head-coach Brentford Football Club are pleased to announce that Lydia Bedford will take on the role of under-18 head coach ahead of the 2023/24 season. She will work alongside Jon-Paul Pittman, who will join as assistant coach from Forest Green Rovers after working within the under-18 set up at the Gloucestershire club. Discussing Lydia’s appointment as head coach of our under-18 side, as well as the addition of Jon-Paul, Brentford FC director of football Phil Giles said: “I’m really pleased that we’ve managed to attract such talented coaches as Lydia and Jon-Paul to our under-18 team for next year. It’s an important time for the under-18 team as next season will be the first where they’ve operated out of the Robert Rowan Performance Centre and integrating them smoothly alongside the first team and B team will be essential. “We undertook an extensive recruitment process for these roles. Lydia and Jon-Paul were the two best candidates, and thankfully we were able to finalise their recruitment to the staff. I’m sure they will excel, and we all look forward to working with them through pre-season and beyond.”
