The late game heroics continue for Jemal Johnson as his 85th minute leveller sends the game to penalties where the Dons edge Gillingham to advance to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern Section Finals against Swansea. http://www.skysports.com/football/match_report/0,19764,11065_2920846,00.html http://soccernet-akamai.espn.go.com/report?id=231784&cc=5901
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7172881.stm Small bit more from BBC sports. Johnson rules. I still think Nowak should give him a look.
When do you think that Nowak should give him a look? Not now or during qualifiers obviously since Johnson has a job that prevents him from attending, right? So, your comment was hypothetical in the future, right?
A pic of the sweet finish. Now 3rd on MK Dons scoring chart with 7 goals in all competitions these season, 4 in the league and a team high 3 in cups. This goal was an instant equalizer off the kickoff. For more info http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10420~43273,00.html
One would think that the Don's manager would consider giving Johnson a full 90. As whether or not Nowak should look at Johnson, I don't think so. Especially when you consider that he looked out of his depth in both the premiership and the championship. I think it's great that an American is scoring some goals in England, but it's the 4th tier, and he's not even a starter yet. I hope it would take more than some 4th division exploits to make the US 23 side.
Johann Smith doesn't park in parking reserved for the handicapped. That really pissed Sigi off during the last U20 cycle because he uses those spots when he goes into Krispy Kreme.
Really? I haven't seen a final roster. Sorry I missed that one. Also, you overlook the fact that Johann is available right now (not playing above reserves for his club) and JJ is not. Whether its better to play EPL reserves or 4th division is a debatable question, but it does say a lot that Bolton hasn't let Johann go (yet . . .).
I'm not faulting Nowak for not calling in Johnson right now, because I'm sure Dons would not let him go unless they had to. I just mean the guy scores regularly in very limited time, and will (knock wood) most likely be in League One next year. I just think in the future, maybe he's earned his shot more than Dalby or Smith who play well...never.
The coach of MK Dons likes Jemal as a sub. He is what all of their fans call a "super sub" their coach is content with just seeing him add a spark later in the game.
People are always saying this about Dalby, but it's always a different month. November and January seem to be the most common though, which leads me to believe that noone knows for sure. I guess we'll find out now that it's January.
Maybe Jemal Johnson doesn't consider himself American. He hasn't lived here since he was very young. Anyway, if Jemal was a central defender, I'm sure he'd be called in. The US U-23 have plenty of options up front, so I think you can forget about this guy.
No, he wouldn't. He can't be called in because he isn't available. He also won't be available for the qualifying tournament. Which means that he is basically worthless to Nowak until after we qualify. The we will see.
He was hardly out of his depth in the Colaship. I saw him play for Wolves multiple times and he showed his skill on the ball, ability to cross with either foot and penchant for scoring some amazing goals. The reason he didn't get the playing time his talent would warrant was the "disagreement" he had with manager Mick McCarthy. I hope he gets call-up for the Olympics (if we qualify) but I'm not holding my breath.
I know that Johnson scored 3 league goals for Wolves in the Championship last season, all before Christmas. So indeed, he wasn't completely out of his depth.
