Anybody else watching the Red Sox - Yankees game notice that Damon (Red Sox centerfielder for all you baseball haters) was wearing a Chicago Fire knit cap during the short feature they showed prior to the bottom of the 8th? Big ups to Johnny! I think somebody just wrote about seeing a person wearing one in NYC. The trend is spreading.
Yep, he was wearing the Chicago Fire winter hat...sitting with his 2 kids. They showed the little piece at about the 8th inning of the sox/yankee game
the two kids were his son and daughter, are you sure that wasn't a Cubs hat, they have very similar logos. I do know however that the Sox and the Revs have quite a few connections and friendships. Ie. Bill Meuller played high school- level soccer with Taylor Twellman and Brian Kamler, also Nomar Garciapara who's well known for his relationship with Mia Hamm and being quite the player himself is good friends with Joe Max Moore.
According to Peter Wilt in the Fire forum, Damon was given that hat and a couple more items from a Puma rep. Turns out, that is his favorite. There is a thread about it in the Fire forum.
That was a good look then, i didn't see that and I was looking for it too. Peter Wilt did confirm on the fire boards, very cool.
proof http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/sp/082101mlbredsox&a=&tmpl=sl&ns=&l=1&e=92&a=0 ok, i've got no idea how to link to this, or if the above link will work, but there's a pic on yahoo news of damon wearing the fire cap, no question.
i think it's great that johnny damon is wearing mls gear. however, it seems that the only people that would recognize that are mls fans. small steps i suppose...
So it's true...uh? I guess I wasn't crazy then. I was the only one in the room who recognized it and said it was the Chicago Fire logo, someone asked what the "Fire" was.
