    he was the best player the crew had.

    Released this preseason.

    Martino has a better upside.

    he was cut, cause he wasn't even the best attacking mid last season.

    If by that you mean he rode the pine for most of the season, then yes.

    And completely underappreciated.

    In the end, a casualty of the youth movement. I won't forget we owe a large part of the 2002 US Open Cup to his two goals that beat Kansas City on the "night of the amazing comeback."

    Agreed. We'll miss him this year. Pelusa was a real asset when he was motivated.

    He was a real asset. However, he was also an SI and having an SI on the bench for as much as Pelusa would have been there... was not a good idea :(

    Perhaps, but since we have an open SI spot it was probably due to the salary cap. We had to pay JC, Buddle, and Martino more than their minimal starting contracts...and Perez was rumored to be drawing down 200k. 200k on the bench is more unacceptable than a SI.
