Well, Cast broke up earlier this year and John Power played on gig in NYC four days ago (Oct 24). I was (and still am) a huge fan of Cast and I was wondering if anyone went to the show? It is a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to ask. If anyone cares, his solo album might be out early next year. I found a site that has a few bootleg mp3s of his first concert. Not sure if I can post the link here, but if you are curious to hear solo stuff from Power just PM me.
I know nothing about this, but I'm a pretty big La's and Cast fan, and would love to get any info anyone has.
Re: Re: John Power (of Cast) at Mercury Lounge (NYC) I sent you a PM with the info about the gig. Apparently John Power has played a few concerts around the UK. However, I was surprised to hear that he came back to the US for a concert.
Not sure what to think of the new songs, but TNT isn't that bad. John plays some old Cast songs during the concert, such as Live the Dream (acoustic).. http://www.cast-chords.co.uk
Damn, I wish I knew this show was on, for curiosity's sake if nothing else. Does he do 'Finetime'? 'Walkaway'?
In the link provided there is a small clip of Walkaway. He also does I'm So Lonely, and a song from Beetroot (horrible album!!).
Apparently John Power is the opening act for 'The Coral' on Nov 19th and 20th at the Mercury Lounge in New York City. http://www.network54.com/Forum/message?forumid=19054&messageid=1036074070
Damn it, Kochy, you know that song always makes you cry. Can't you just...erm...walkaway from Walkaway?
