According to 'reputable' sources, John Harkes was seen in Sheffield this week to interview for the opening as the Owls manager...that is, before Chris Turner got the job. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/sports_talk/2345711.stm
Doesn't look like Harkes was ever considered. Reid was their first choice, and when he turned them down, they went straight for Turner. http://www.soccernet.com/england/news/2002/1106/sheffwed_20021106_owlslooktoturner.html
Give me a break. The site also says Cobi Jones is going to Derby County. It's all baseless speculation.
Re: Re: John Harkes - new Sheffield Wednesday manager? Next he'll quote something from Weekly World News as reputable...
well, have you seen his other threads? I think he's just picking some American player and then putting them with an English squad. Taylor Twellman for Liverpool. Screw that Owen kid.
Obviously most of you failed English 101. You see those characters before and after the word reputable? They are called quotes. They indicate someone else talking or they can indicate a speciality with the word. In some cases, people even use it to imply a hint of sarcasm or skepticism (Are these words too vague for you, or should I refer you to www.dictionary.com?) In any case, it was meant to be amusing. Re: Re: John Harkes - new Sheffield Wednesday manager? Well, actually, no, they're not quotes. They're apostrophes.
Re: Re: Re: John Harkes - new Sheffield Wednesday manager? And these thingy's " aren't quotes either, they're quotation marks. I guess English 101 in jolly old England ain't all its cracked up to be...
Re: Re: John Harkes - new Sheffield Wednesday manager? Boy you good, then again you the same guy who missed USA play in the world cup,but the last game with Germany...
Is it possible to be a troll and a sock puppet at the same time, because Rizzo the Rat is doing a good job at being both... "My best friend's sister's boyfriend's cousin saw Mathis pass out at 31 Flavours (of beer) last night...she says its pretty serious"
Re: Re: Re: Re: John Harkes - new Sheffield Wednesday manager? Look matey, the Queen's English requires a single apostrophe to signal conversational speech and can interchange with the double quotation marks. Look it up in the Oxford dictionary, or is picking up book too much for you to do.
Re: Re: Re: John Harkes - new Sheffield Wednesday manager? See what I mean about English 101? This is a seriously disjointed sentence.
