anyone esle see too many similarities between John Doe and the Dead Zone (tv show)????? It's almost like Fox saw the Dead Zone and said "hey we should have thought of that, let's do something just like it".
Gee, I saw this and thought that John Doe, of the band X, had a new band. Damn, it's just about some old tv show.
Are you thinking about Haunted? Because I don't see any similarities between John Doe and the Dead Zone. John Doe doesn't predict the future or any of that crap, come to think of it neither does the man character in Haunted.
You don't see ANY similarities? All three use extrasensory powers to solve crimes and mysteries, two of them got those powers after near-death experiences. Granted, the King novel trumps it, but you could say that they're *all* pulling from Millennium on that front, particularly with the gruesome death-of-the-week factor. For my money, the best new show about a guy who has bizarre mental powers and solves crime with them is Monk, but they're organic bizarre mental powers. And John Doe IS Brian Unger, I'm telling ya. Umm, I don't view John Doe as using extrasensory powers like the guy from the Dead Zone. He doesn't have any visions or anything of the sort. He simply knows everything and he puts what he knows to use.
the way each episode is set up is that there is a mystery, each then go to the local sheriff to help and both use their "powers" to help solve the crimes. In each episode, there are people who doubt the powers.
Actually, John Doe just released a solo album and is on tour. He's playing in Chicago on a bill with Neko Case, which I would imagine will be a really good show. Later, COZ
Do not remind me that John Doe is touring now. I noticed his name on a bill at the 9:30 club after the show, which is the same thing that happened last time he came through DC. He was appearing with a bunch of people, so I do hope he may come through again, solo.
