How the hell do you go from coaching a historic team to relegation (playing really, really terrible soccer) to getting hired for another that made the Champions League group stage this year?

Looks like 3 at the back for Wolfburg. Have they been trotting that out?

Solid, but his recovery speed is not what it used to be.

his passing is so good....his teammates didnt really do enough with the next balls but he wa putting them in dangerous positions all night it seemed.

same dynamic with the usmnt....those long balls can be deadly but the receiver needs to be sharp with where the bal goes next.

Goal 1 went right around him: https://streamja.com/oo0zO

Goal 2 was a scorcher from distance off a corner.

Jeez, was he that bad? Hard to imagine a reason for a CB to be subbed at half, other than horrific play, if it isn't tactical (for a red card) or for injury.

EDIT: I looked up his whoscored rating. It was really, really bad (5.69!).

Looks like he started at LCB in a 3 man backline. They brought on a CB and fullback at half so I’m assuming they went to a 4 man backline and Brooks was the CB sacrificed. If you are chasing the game and taking chances, your CB’s are going to get exposed and that isn’t what you want with Brooks. So, sub could have been part tactical along with not having a good game. But, I’m sure highlights would show a line breaking pass or two for him. Maybe more!
