Davies is starting for Bayern. Why on earth would they send him on loan?

I think the other teams best defender takes Brooks. They obviously know he is a giant and good with his noggin.

He’s not suggesting they send Davies on loan. He’s suggesting they send Richards.

I saw a notification in this thread and my first thought was damn is he injured again. They better bubble wrap him during the winter window.

Brooks responsible for the 2nd goal against Wolfsburg... another one of those playing out of the back leading to an easy goal for the opponent.

The playing out of the back phenomenon is asinine. I’m over it. SO many cheap goals are given up and no way the benefits outweighs that huge risk.

Today's game starts at 9:30 eastern on Fox Soccer Match Pass.

    Last week's highlights:
Brook's error on the second goal is at 0:45.

JAB's always been a bit of a tronco, but could compensate with speed and height. After his injury, though, he seems to have lost a step.

Still so young. It's a shame he never played with Gooch. I'd love to have seen that combo for a match or 2.

Brooks is on the bench for the third consecutive match today. Seems he has lost his starting spot.

One of Wolfsburg's CB picked up a red card, so we could see him next match

Brooks was back in the starting XI today with Pongracic suspended. 3-2 win at Hoffenheim that moves Wolfsburg up to 9th.

Pongracic is suspended for Wolfsburg's next two league matches (v. Mainz, at Union Berlin), but I assume he's eligible for the Europa League matches against Malmo in between. Brooks needs some big performances in the league games if he wants to win that starting place back.

And Tisserand is just back from injury. He's another guy who was getting minutes ahead of JAB.

Getting beaten on the dribble like he did on Hoffenhein's opener today probably isn't going to help his cause.

Brooks has always had trouble with dribblers. Truth be told, Tisserand is nothing to write home about. But Pongracic is better than both.

Pongracic seems to suffer from the Brooks Injury Bug though, maybe even to a worse extent. He hasn't ever had more than 26 appearances in a season. Seems to be a bit of a card magnet too.

He failed to stop a cross. I would not refer to that as getting beaten on the dribble. That usually means letting the dribbler pass you by.

I think of it as the attacker gaining separation via the dribble. Brooks had good position and still let the ball past him.

Bad look for Brooks there either way. You never want to be the defender laying on the ground as the ball goes in the net.
